If your ship is no longer banking when turning, change Turn Left/Right to use the controller.
Click on "A" or "D" then move the left stick in the direction you want.

the fix above did not work for me. How do I do this with a text file?

    Thanks

I'll assume you don't know anything about binding like this, and give you the whole rundown.

Make an file in your Cryptic Studios\Star Trek Online\Live folder (mine doesn't have an extension), and call it something you'll remember easily. I have 2, one for ground and one for space (you need to separate those 2 modes). In this case, we're editing Space, so i open that file and input.

    Lstick_left "+left"
    Lstick_right "+right"

I have a bunch more shortcuts that are irrelevant to this issue, so i just add those 2 lines to the top of the stack (since they're so basic). I think they're pretty self explanatory, but the the left value is what your controller does, the right value is the action it corresponds to. You can find a list of the controller binds for STO if you just google it, and a list of the available console commands at the STO wiki.

After that, you go into the game, go into chat and type /bind_load_file "your file name", and the game will now load the binds in the file. Done.

You can do this while alt-tabbing from the game, btw. No need to close and restart in order to edit, just so you know.

PS, the bind changes are per character, not account, so you'll need to load your binds for every character. It still remembers them after you leave the game, though, so you only have to do it once.

EDIT: Playing my warbird, i still notice the flat turn rearing it's ugly head a few times. Course, this will all be fixed with the coming patch today. Right.

Thank you for the temporary fix idea. it made the game much more playable. Hopefully they fix the underlying problem soon. My ship still wont bank sometimes when I'm picking up loot, and turning at the same time, but at-least its mostly working now.

Hey, just had to thank you for posting that keybind snippet. I've been having the banking problem for so long. Glad I found this thread to get the workaround (since obviously the issue has not been fixed in code).
    Now a top-rated spotlight mission!
