That's my planner, and I can tell you that it is a mistake that it doesn't highlight any of the Escort skills. I will be fixing that. However that isn't what would cause you to die quickly. Most likely it is your equipment and the abilities you are using.

The first thing I would recommend is using only turrets and cannons, no beams. Also pick only one energy weapon type. As for projectiles, torpedoes are probably better to use so get rid of the mines.

You should have more space abilities that boost your shields such as Auxiliary Power to Shields, Rotate Shield Frequency, and Reverse Shield Polarity.

Where do you die quickly? In PvP or PvE?

EDIT: I just fixed the planner. Load your build then refresh/reload the page. It should highlight the appropriate skills for the Multi-Vector

That is a good build for the MVAE. You had a number of skill points in places you will never use them. Keep an Aux Battery handy for your Sci-Heals and Tyken's II. NEVER EVER EVER mix Beams and Cannons, there is not point in doing that and all it does is drop your overall DPS. Also... Beams on an Escort? That is just sad any time I see it. Use Tact Team to get rid of Boarding Party and Borg Assimilation as well as help you redistribute shields fast in combat. Use Tyken's to put their light's out. With no power to do anything they are sitting ducks.

Take it or leave it but it does wonders for me until they separate Ground skills from Space skills.

Does it not make a difference to use phaser beams as while split the cannons will give a tell that the player is in the part where the cannons are shooting from? When it first came out, I had heard some saying they were going to stick with beams in it because of that.

If you have problems with survivability:
    1) Equip two Emergency Power to Shields. (This will cost all your Engineering slots on the MVAM, but it's totally worth it.
2 EPtS means you have high shield resistance at all times, which will signifcantly limit your enemies ability to damage you.

    2) Distribute Shield Power regularly. Either by clicking on the middle of the Shields UI, or by getting the Tactical power "Tactical Team" (rank I is enough). Tactical Team is better than distributing shield powers, as it works faster and directs shields to the weak spots directly, but it costs you Bridge Officer Slots. Try it and see what works best.
A somewhat hidden benefit of this of distributing shield power is that all shield heals apply healing to all facings. If a facing is fully recovered, the healing to it is wasted. If all facings are slightly reduced, all shields can benefit from it, so you get more out of a shield heal.

    3) Equip Hazard Emitters.
If you still take too much hull damage overall, use Hazard Emitters. This is one of the best uses of a low level science slot. In PvE, it should suffice completely.

    4) Equip Transfer Shield Strength.
If your shields still take too much damage, pick up Transfer Shield Strength. It's a very good heal over time and also provide a small damage buff. It's best used together with distribute shield power or tactical team.

If you still have trouble after trying these (and also speccing the right skills for them), you must be PvPing. In that case, you are not fighting 1 enemy but ~5, and should expect your ~4 allies to aid you fend them off. If they don't, find friends or a fleet that are more helpful and appreciate the kind of damage you can bring to the table as an Escort player.
Does it not make a difference to use phaser beams as while split the cannons will give a tell that the player is in the part where the cannons are shooting from? When it first came out, I had heard some saying they were going to stick with beams in it because of that.
It might be notable, but do people actually watch that conciously for it? I have a far easier trick - I have set NPCs to not show their names in the UI, so I can see the difference by noting that you always have a name showing from the 3 parts. Ultimately, that little bit of confusion factor cannot compensate the DPS difference.

Does this ship actually Multi Vector as is does in the pictures? Or do you have to actually buy it with zen to get it to work? I have been looking all over, and I can not find any information on that. Any help would be apperiated.
