I'm seeing odd things happening today

Firstly I'm suddenly finding loads of lock boxes that I know you should only be able to obtain via The Exchange i.e. Cardassian, temporal, Voth etc.

Secondly I was doing a bog-standard patrol mission when the actual Enterprise just warped into the mission unannounced said "looks like you could use some help" and proceeded to blow away an entire Gorn taskforce.

Is there a special event going on at the moment that STO haven't mentioned by any chance?

    There's a lockbox rerun going on right now. That means there's a chance that any of the previous lockboxes will drop. Also, if you're doing the Tau Dewa patrol I'm thinking of, there's a chance as a Fed. for the Enterprise to assist you. If you do it as a Klingon, the Bortasqu' will sometimes warp in to help.

    Oh cool didn't know about either of these and yes it was the Tau Dewa patrol I was doing, I thought it was an in-game moderator at first just randomly checking to see if I was ok -when he didn't reply to me I guessed it was a bot :D

    Yep though they need to update it now the Rommies have a flag ship, it is a tad disappointing getting the main faction ones when you get the "help".

    yeah, in patrols, the Enterprise or Bortasqu' (don't know about the Rom flagship) will help you, defending on faction, and yes, there is a lockbox rerun. :)

    FYI, For Rom's you get your alignment choice flagship, there is not (yet) a Rom Flagship that helps out ... I guess they could send in the Lleiset, but how would they explain her presence in the Tau Dewa sector?

    quiet simple. it could be on its shakedown cruise and they didnt want to send it into a system alone, so they sent it to a system where a known republic ship was incase something went wrong.

    The dreads do sometimes pop in say something like "HEYAR, I SEE YOU ARE TRYING TO KILL SOME MOBS!" and then join in.

    More than once, I've seen the various dreads get roflstomped by frigates, forcing the dread to warp out :D


    Odd, it reminds me of a certain animated paper clip from microsoft...
