Hailing all Captains!

The ReDesign of Earth Space Dock is complete, and it is amazing. If you have not already taken a trip to our Tribble Test Server to gaze at the beautiful work of our Design team, then this blog is going to be full of surprises for you.

    Thing that I liked most about the new esd we can't take advantage of. I know it was never planned for it but please think about opening the shuttle bay for player access again. It was very cool to run around in on tribble, And I don't like that we can't access it anymore. :mad:

    I haven't been on Tribble to take a look, but from the pictures you've shown and the time lapse pictures too,, Kudos!!!!!

    To you Taco, your imagination, and the team that helped you develop it. The new ESD looks amazing.

    Thanks goodness I just created a Catian fed character to go explore this wonder environment.

    Looks nice, I can't wait to rage about it's shortcomings soon. ;)
    Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

    You wasting time by improving AFK/RP zones..maybe it's nice for casual players... :rolleyes:
    FaW+DEM+AtB in pvp = High score , no skill.

    To the Devs especially Taco for your/his work on ESD...

    I visited the new ESD and WOW... It feels like we are on a portion of ESD. The one thing I loved was seeing some of my ships... It just left me saying WOW.... TBH I didn't want to go back to the old ESD! hahaha..

    The feeling I got was a grand feeling and it felt proportionate IMO.... BRAVO!

    The one thing I hadn't thought of was it wouldn't been nice if the current ESD was the actual lower part of ESD. Going back after tribble I looked thru the window and saw that it would actually work if that was the lower portion.

    As well, I noticed that outside of ESD felt a bit darker? Not sure if that is going to be final but I loved the new dry docks... will be parking there before I log out.

    Again BRAVO and I can't wait for the new ESD.

    Next stop: The First City, where you can just walk through a wall next to the console in the bottom right cornor and fall to the bottom of the map.

    I have not been nearly ESD for two years because its the most troll-filled community in the history of any game I've played. In fact its the reason why I have not played Fed since. {shudders at the memory of cryo grenades, party poppers .....}

    As great as the new ESD is this will make that feeling x1000. And those little midget dwarf men. Scare the bejesus out of me.

    Rolled a toon on tribble to check out ESD. It's going to take some getting used to but I was blown away by it to be honest.

    WHAT no more running around the shuttle bay, ahhhhh I highly enjoyed that.

    Otherwise it is definitely the needed facelift ESD so badly needed, I mean as it stands currently it looks like an old outdated 23rd century SB, with modern additions in the form of consoles added.

    Think of a 18th century home with 18th century furnishings and furniture, than place 70" lcd widescreens in every room and you kind of get the idea.

    Also the size of the old ESD felt like running around thru a walmart, the tribble ESD was more like a big shopping mall.

    I saw the time-lapse pics. Will the game read the time from the machine or where it's logging in from and maybe accurately affect the lighting or the feel of the station for the user? That would be interesting.

    Since the work is so stellar it bears yet another thank you in another thread. It's that good.

    And for those saying that it looks like the Citadel, keep in mind that Mass Effect took an immense amount from Star Trek. Part of the reason that I enjoyed the Mass Effect series so much was that exploring each luster felt just like Star Trek. I read every planet description where the planet had a Mars scar that told of an ancient weapon used against a Reaper or there was an old pirate battle there.

    So I think it's perfectly acceptable for Star Trek to take some of those design cues back.

    And who do I have to provide inappropriate favors to to get a desk like Admiral Quinn's in my Ready Room or quarters?

    Well I know that weapons have been disabled if that helps.

    I got used to it on Tribble.

    Now you turn around when you want to do stuff, instead of running in circle. After I got used to that I liked the base. :)

    Personally, I don't see the connection between the two - other than being in orbit of a planet and all, that is. Even if I did, if it was done right (which, I can assure you, it was when I last checked it out - with the exception of airborne consoles and stuff), I wouldn't mind at all.

    The blog forgot to mention that Tacofangs said Club 47 won't roll out with season 9 launch because it won't be finished in time. In fact it didn't mention much about the club at all.

    Did they finish it yet or are they still working on it?

    I've been on tribble a lot and the new ESD is spectacular. <3

    I would say it is. I play Star Trek games for Star Trek. If I want to roam the Citadel, I would play Mass Effect.
