I'm forever seeing Snowmen

Ok I'm not forever seeing them but I did see one on Earth Spacedock about a month ago and yesterday there was one as bold as brass sitting right next to the transporter pad in the staging area on New Romulus with everyone running past like it wasn't there.

Are these things in-game Easter eggs and only one player can see then at any one time?

Ah, those would be the non-combat snowman pets from the winter event. Outside of Q's wonderland, they're just static snowmen. When the event is active, they come "alive" and follow you around and stuff. It's the same for the gingerbread man/women pets. Once winter rolls around again, you can grab one for yourself.

They're relatively reasonably priced in between winter events. You should be able to grab one from the exchange for not too much. During the winter event they follow you around, afterwards they just sit around.

They are really boring and once you saw em for 3 days following around, they are really dumb and ugly.

I have about 3 or 4 of em if i remember right. Used em for about 30 minutes, and never again lol. Non combat pet are usually stupid, ugly and useless in this game, but snowmen.. erm.. even more. Not to mention they should not even be there. They dont belong here.. we should bring Santa Claus as well. Who cares anymore lol.

OP Also if your interested you can get a device that turns your avatar into a snowman as well.

Look on the exchange for coal

Not sure if it works outside of the winter event tho but they are there.

Why would you have more than one? The actual type of snowman (ordinary, grumpy Klingon, Bolian with head ridge, Andorian with snow antennae, maybe others, I don't actually care) is chosen randomly each time you pull the thing out of inventory - it's not like the gingerbread people: if you've got one snowman, you've got the set.

As for being stupid, ugly and useless... well, they still beat the hor'gahn from the Risa event, which doesn't do anything. (Though I still bought one. And even gave it a name. It's called Hulk. Hulk Hor'gahn. I'm sure you're glad to know that.)

    Horga'hn >>>>>> Snowman. Every. Single. Time. ;)

    That said however => Hulk Horga'hn FTW!!! :D :P

Well...what it actually does is solicit prostitution, right? Cryptic would probably have a hard time getting CBS to sign off on that.

The actual Horga'hn non-combat pet is already in the game. Been in here for about a year now.

The Frigid Lump of Coal that turns your character into a snowman was only useable inside the Q's Winter Wonderland map, which is not accessible unless the event is running. So it does absolutely nothing and can't be used right now.

Yep. The first ever Risa Summer Event (2013) is where that came from. You might be able to find some in the exchange still (Reward Packs category). Or just wait a couple months or so for the next summer event. I'm sure it will make a return.

The Horga'hn pet has always been like the snowman and gingerbread men when the winter event isn't running; it doesn't follow you and just sits there. But it does have a neat summon animation with a musical sound effect and a bunch of hearts floating around it for a brief moment.

I'm aware it's in the game. I meant making it actually do something other than just sit there. It's actual canon purpose is NSFW. :D

I dont see the difference between a still pet and a regular one. They dont do anything anyways. They are all of em useless. In other games, non combat pets jump, run, walk around the master, play, i mean, they do a lot of things. In STO, non combat pets are just, dumb piles of nothing filling a inventory slot lol. Whats the meaning of having a cuty kittie (i wish we could have kittie non combat pets lol) as a pet if it does nothing, not even "meow"?

I mean, non combat pets in STO are not even that lol. And of course, using high ammounts of EC to buy one.. that guy must be crazy.
