Hi all, sorry for the title. I have a level 50 Romulan Science Fed. I have not done any work on the rep system yet and have never rolled a sci toon before.
I am not sure what direction ship and role wise to go in.
I have plenty of EC, Dill and Fleed Credits. I also have about 6k Zen from my stipend unspent.
I have been considered the new dyson ships and Scim ships but am open to anything.
I already have the following consoles. Valdore, Plasmonic Leach, Fleet XII Flow capacitor - th +Pla, Fleet XII Neutronium + Hull, Aegis Set and an Advanced Singularity core that's plus shield and Aux.
Not sure if this is best here or ship build. I have advanced fleet ground gear to get my through whats needed at this level until rep is underway.
Any and all help is great from my jottings. Thanks.
the dyson is a good ship for roms. With valdore and a solid dps cannon setup, as well as singularity defenses, you can overcome its lack of healing/engineering and keep it alive.
If you want cmdr sci abilities and firepower mixed, this is a good ship.
If you want firepower and a little science, consider the very ship (danios). It can support a ltcmdr sci and cmdr tac and 4 real up front weapons. Its better than the dyson in tac mode.
If you just want to blow things up, scimitar is good of course, and here again you could put the ltcmdr sci but IMHO you need to use that for healing, not offense. Its a pure gunship.
My rom sci bought a recluse, and its sweet for pure sci or cmdr tac blasting. Pets make it like a 4/3 ship for dps.
I guess really you have 3 primary choices... pure sci, sci heavy, or gun heavy builds. Another oddball, the DD has a ltcmdr sci and plenty of durability and firepower, though its slow.
Thanks for your reply. I am open to the suggestion of the Danios. I do have one although not really kitted it out. Will search for some build suggestions and see how it suits. Been using the T'varo which I am not keen on.
I'm trying something a little goofy with mine: speccing into grav and running dual beams, borg set, and GW1 on a Fleet D'deridex.

I hate to say it - because it kind of defeats the purpose of playing a Romulan - but I think lockbox ships are the way to go.
The Ha'nom is dreadful. There aren't any Romulan science ships you can buy from the c-store. My salvation was making enough EC to buy the Tholian Recluse. It was so worth it. There are several other sci ships to choose from.
It sucks them not being warbirds but at least we have the option of putting Romulan or Reman shields on them to make them look a bit more appropriate. Mask energy signature also gives you a bit of cloakiness.

You can go full auxillary, still have enough sci skills if you fill the lt cmdr slot with a sci.
try it!
