To call him one of the greatest actors of our time is not an exaggeration. His range was incredible. He could do drama ("Bill") or comedy ("It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World") with equal ease. He could sing, dance... and yet he was incredibly humble. His kind of actor comes along only once in a GREAT while and sets the bar...
*STO*Its mission: To destroy strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations... and then kill them, to boldly annihilate what no one has annihilated before!
Hate hearing this news. Rooney was one of those guys that seemed to go on forever.
He was delightful as Andy Hardy and Young Thomas Edison (and apparently Mickey McGuire, though I never saw that film series), really entertaining as "Lampie" the tipsy lighthouse keeper in Pete's Dragon, and just dynamite in his performance of "Bill".
IMDB.com says his first movie appearance was 1926! The Stock Market crash was still 3 years off. wow.

Rest in peace, good sir.
I loved his many cameo appearances over the years. When I was younger I thought his entire fame was based on having cameo appearances.

Yeah, really. I thought he died back in the 1990s.
He looked good in Iron Man 2
