I want to play more PVP...

Hi all, I want to get more into playing PVP. I play the occasional space based pug with my a2b galor or fleet assault cruiser beam builds. Both are good builds and normally get high sustained damage but this I feel is not right or enough for PVP.

I have a good selection of ships and gear and want a ship I can PVE in as well as be effective in PVP.

I am a tac captain and have the following ships.

Galor
D''kora
Oddy's
Fleet assault cruiser
Fleet Patrol escort
Fleet Heavy escort carrier
Fleet defiant
Mobius temp destroyer
Fleet Chimera
Fleet Excelsior
Fleet Avenger
Fleet Gal X

I want something fit for a tac captain, decent durability and able to mount a decent alpha. I bow to your experience and know there is a lot here so guidance would be good. Which ship would be a great start. Thanks all.

    I forgot to add I have the Jem Dreadnaught carrier and Elachi Escort boxes in my bank too, not opened yet.

    I am thinking I would prefer a cannon build as I don't seem to get decent spike damage with beam arrays. Excellent sustained though.

    Well based on the list you provided, I'd suggest your Avenger. I'm guessing your a fed non rom?

    I would prefer a cannon build on the moebius if I were you.
    Good constant pressure and if spec'ed an geared right a
    awesome Ship!

    Better quit before you rage quit, just saying
    Now found frequenting MWO short term and then Star Citizen long term. Raged Quit PVP long ago

    Thanks for the helpful responses. Yes I am a Fed non rom on this toon. I belong to a fleet called UFP who do premade in house PVP however recently I have been finding the pugs interesting. I also fancy joining some of the channels when competent. I am prepared to listen, no problem with that.

    My advice would be:


    Galor -> pressure dmg Beamboat

    or

    Mobius -> burst dmg Cannonboat


    Both are awesome in PvE and PvP.
