I am new to the game, been playing a little over a week. I have been gaming for many years, starting as a kid with consoles, Atari 5200 and NES, moved to pc with Halo Combat Evolved. Played World of ******** for a very long time, and I play Torchlight II and starting STO. I am a casual player, will be online 3 or 4 hours a day, varies throughout the day, live on west coast, PST. I have been a trekkie for a very long time (I say Trekkie because my Trek days go back to the TOS, yes I am old!! lol). So I decided to try STO. I love this game, very cool but very overwhelming to a beginner. I would like to find a group of people who are mature, laid back and have a deep root in the game that are willing to help a newbie along. I am in STO to play a fun game, meet friends, and hang out, NOT for drama and games, I already did my time in high school, lol. I have TS, Vent, Steam and Xfire to talk in or willing to grab another voip if your fleet uses.
I have a Klingon and Bajorian/Fed, but they are both low level and only wanted to see the game from that perspective. My main character is this Romulan, he is only lvl 12 at the moment, but my goal is taking him to top lvl. Did my alliance with the Federation, because basically didn't know better either way and didn't want to take the time to research, lol....willing to start a new character and go KFD if that is what your group is. I really don't know the benefits of both sides yet, lol...asked around but seems a lot of people are not willing to answer questions in game. I have 2 friends who play other games with me that will be starting STO soon. They both will want to come hang with me and a new group. Both are mature like myself, one lives in Vienna Austria, so will be playing earlier in the day and the other lives in Australia, she mostly plays at night.
Thanks for reading my ramble, looking forward to meeting new people.
Glad to hear you are enjoying the game, I am Junior, or that is what my Fleet Mates call me, related to STO, I am referred as *Comrademoco*, and I would like to extend and invite to join "The 1st Fleet", we are a fairly large fleet, that is very active, but our primary goal is to have fun, help new comers and to better then any way we can... We have a large number of Long time STO vets to new players.... so this might be your new home... We also have a small KDF sister Fleet "Imperial Klingon Defense Force" who is getting there...
I'd love to hear from you, be free to drop me a mail in game @comrademoco, or here in forums... I am basically on 24/7...
I'll keep this pretty short and say if you have the time to check out Starfleet Task Force 1. If it seems like the sort of fleet your looking for you are more than welcome to join. We are a mature Fleet for the most part with ages ranging from 54 I believe and the youngest being in their teens. The average age I would say is in the mid to late 30's. If you have any questions, I'm more than happy to answer. We have people from all over, US, Canada, England, Ireland etc. They are a great bunch and extremely helpful. The Fleet is about 9 months old and we do have a dedicated Mumble Voice Server available to all members if they want to use it. We also have a KDF Fleet, The House of Martok. I have also included links to our recruitment threads here in the STO Forums if you would like to check those out. Some members have left replies there after joining. Anyway, hope to hear back from you and if you want to catch me in game i'm at Winters@winters83 or Mar'tok@winters83
Just to add to your list for consideration I'd like to offer you an open invitation if you would be interested in becoming a part of our growing family at The Mak'Tar. We are based off the movie Galaxy Quest which is a Star Trek parody and a highly recommended film to watch.
We're a very laid back fleet, primarily Federation and offer a mature and relaxed environment with no drama for all our members. Communication is one of our biggest policies and we offer an open door policy to all members, so if you have a problem, suggestion or an idea to help the fleet improve in any aspect we are here to listen and help.
We run regular events for all our members and we're also getting ready to head into Star Citizen which is made by the creator of Wing Commander, Freelancer & Privateer. If you need to take a break we have a Shore Leave thread which you can post in and we'll add you to Risa Shore Leave until you get back.
We have members across the US, Canada, UK and the rest of Europe ranging from 18 to 50 years old. We also offer many fleet roles in the fleet if there is anything to your liking that you would like to take part in. Working together as a family/team is a big priority for us and of course having fun and a laugh in game/on Mumble!
Feel free to have a look at our website and hopefully you might find it's the place for you. We ask that all members be at least 18 years old and require the following from new Cadets:
Complete the application form to become a member.
Complete a 2-4 week probation as a Cadet.
Regular activity on our site and voice server (Mic not required).
Activity in this group is based on when you were last active on our voice server or forum.
Myself and some friends have a small fleet with varied playtimes, very casual and all are adults, though maturity is always a question I suppose. We're laid back and not stressed.
We are very new player friendly, still all learning a bit ourselves.
Worldwide Gamers United. It was founded by some British guys who play all manner of games together. They actually are just coming back from World of Tanks.
Feel free to shoot me an in game message or email: @joshglass

Well, you guys seemed like a decent fleet, the leader and a few members were cool, laid back and helpful. BUT, I was a member for a month & a half and no advancement...I did see a new ranking structure come into play and members who had not been active within the past month become highest ranks, which I found odd. Seems like more of a popularity and nepotism type organization, even though I was online for A LOT of time per day, helped others and contributed to tasks. When this new ranking system was announced a lot of your older and higher ranking members left and started their own fleet, I should have asked questions then instead of wasting weeks to see this come into play. Thank you for the opportunity to get to see what fleet life is all about, but with all said and done, I left and again looking for a group with a better system.
Hi, thank you for the invite, but I am 45 years old and semi-retired (own my own business now) I am done with filling out applications & doing interviews in my life. Activity is not an issue with me, I play MANY hours a day, everyday and am always active in whatever fleet, guild or clan I have been in or created/lead for the past 30+ years of gaming. So, thank you but no thank you. Cool, site and recruitment video though.

Thanks for taking a peak anyway. We don't require interviews though that's a little to hardcore, just a simple app to keep a head count. If you don't find anything else like my friend mentioned we could always use more hands on the FED side
Take care and have fun on your Romulan its way better than played KDF or FED
Thank you. I actually have a lvl 50 Rom/Fed, lvl 50 KDF and have a lower lvl 45 Fed and lvl 25 Rom/KDF...been busy. Like I said, I play a lot, lol...but the Rom/Fed, Azrael is my main and favorite.

This here in bright YellowNo, or fleet runs with structure in which every 1st of the month anyone, regardless of rank is kicked from the fleet if they have extended the 30+ day of inactiviness...
and the members whom where promoted, where not members who where inactive but those who have been in the fleet for quite a long time and know well the backstory of the fleet...
This is Bright RED No, no, no, no... Our Fleet is prohibited from running on that type of structure, popularity and nepotism is never a factor with in us, when determining who is able to run the fleet when the highest ranking members (Leaders) are offline, the things we look into are Activeness, Long time service to the fleet, and show leadership, helpfulness with other members.
This in Bright Cyan When a member joins, and is active, is helping our fleet and members, he/she is the promoted to the appropriate rank in which the member can serve, if a member is not promoted past a certain there are several points in which our Fleet Admirals take into consideration... Just because a member joins and is very active and helpful... and I am sure other fleet leaders agree with me here, that does not mean he/she is then ready to become an officer or high ranking officer.
This in bright Green Nope, this was not the case, again... as I've mention before, inactiveness means a removal of our fleet, we try to keep our fleet as active as possible, yes! several members did leave, but our Fleet Structure was not the reason or factor for their departure, and I can tell you this personally because I talked to every single one of them. In simple words, their departure was to better them selves and find something more challenging to do in game. We do, STILL, Keep in contact with such members and are yet still part of our gaming guild.
I hope, I was able to explain myself through out this Azrael.... and if you wish to keep looking for a fleet, I wish you the BEST and may you find your proper home...
It was great to have you as a Commander of our fleet!!!

Wow...thanks for turning MY search for a fleet thread into YOUR fleet thread. I mean is that necessary? I don't think so. If you felt a NEED to defend your fleet or actions, a private message would have been totally appropriate. Thanks again.
