    Knowing there's an Undine Lockbox coming (and what's inside it) I think I'll wait to spend Dilithium on Master Keys...

    Not happening, not until about the week of the 21st, when season 9 will probably launch. Per the in game calendar, the lockbox rerun, and a bonus XP event will happen from the 15th to the 24th, if I remember right.

    Will these be in Hirogen boxes we already have, or do we have to fight for new ones?

    Edit: The Hirogen can be found in the Tau Dewa sector block, in the Narendra system.

    Not interested in an Undine box at all. However, since it's about to be available, even though Branflakes said we weren't getting one, I think it's time we get a Borg box as well... So, a Borg cube and a T5 Fleet Miranda for me, since STO is obviously going the "make every ship playable" route.

    Please in the name of all that is holy and don't do a Borg Lockbox. This will totally destroy the game. The Borg are a species that should remain NPC so no faction no lockbox content. I'd Rather not see a cube at ESD or Quonos

    I wouldn't mind...it would give me the reason to finally just wash my hands of the mess and walk away for good....


    on a side note...I like the idea of the detail that's being placed in the blog for lockbox stuff....pictures are helpful....if possible can we make them scratch and sniff or popup as well?

    The Disney Sphere and Ships pretty much sealed the deal for me. Mecha-dinosaurs, pfft. Content has been subpar for a while now. Season 9 is just going to be patch work and complicating aspects of the game that a low percentage of players actually care about. So, yeah, bring on the Borg.

    I'm glad they posted this again. It reminded me to get the Hirogen ground weapons. I got a few blast waves and 1 sniper for my characters to use. Usually I get at least a couple of the weapons from the Exchange that the boxes has. And make good use out of them, as another choice of weapons. Just like the Elachi and Voth weapons from the last ones.

    Yeah Dinosaurs with lasers pretty much was the last straw so Borg lockboxes would make me go TRIBBLE this game and look elsewhere. Which I have been close to a few times during Season 8 and Season 9 is not making me excited at all with all the nerfs and the new undine mission smells just like the MU mission. I know people are saying it's different but it's based on the event in so many ways.

    1. Instead of protecting a starbase your defending a planet.
    2. Instead of upgrading the weapons on a starbase you get help from ships (Not a big difference but seems the only difference)
    3. Instead of Terran ships it's undine ships
    4. You need to close rifts to stop ships coming through.

    So I am thinking of taking break until Season 10 later in the year. However I know lockboxes are a big money maker and I have opened a few myself in the past and my current ship is from a Tholian lockbox but even thought there is some people out there who want borg cubes or spheres as there shps for there lib borgs or want a borg faction. There is some people who think it will be a bad idea especially for those who like to RP or like to stick to canon.

    Um, can we do something about the odds of certain weapons in these boxes? I've opened about 30 or so, and out of all of these, I've received maybe 7 or 8 ship weapons. Now, I like those odds in themselves, but my problem is they're almost all cannons. I don't use cannons. I have 1 beam array and 1 beam bank, and frankly I'd like to see the odds of getting a beam array increased. Unless there's anyone out there luckier than me who has gotten a few beams and is willing to trade for cannons.

    This is incorrect - Brandon never said we were not getting a Undine box - what he said when asked about a Undine lock box:

    Noticed how this is the first "recap" lockbox blog that doesn't blabber anything in the vein of "TRIBBLE lockbox is one of our best lockboxes yet!"? Just compare it to the Tal'Shiar or Elachi blogs.

    Did the sales drop that much, Cryptic?

    As for the next lockbox, I honestly hope it won't be Undine. Or at least it won't include any of the Bioships. That would be the next step to playable Borg Cubes, and for some players the Temporal ships were going too far.

    On the other hand, I wonder how an Undine ship would look like with Reman shield visuals enabled...


    Oh, while at it, the only thing I want from the next lockbox is a Mirror Universe D'deridex. I so want that dark hull material for my fleet variant...

    I heard Tacofangs and some other devs say that there would never be a playable Borg Cube... (for a lockbox ship anyways.) Powers like evasive maneuvers and some others would bug the game out. Maybe if they decide to go all the way and make a playable Borg faction with all new powers but that's years of work and planing.

    I don't see many people if any using the holo projectors. I think it's a waste of GPL and rather keep the latinum for my dabo games doff missions and when trading the prisoners from the breen before I blow them out of the sky
