About Season 9

When is Season 9 getting launched? I read on the STO Wiki in the Upcoming Content section that it will be released "in early April" but then it says "April 29th 2014" if its really getting released on the 29th of April then that is so not early April...so whats the release date?

    I'm guessing either the 15th or the 22nd.

    Keep in mind that the STO Wiki is not done by Cryptic, it is done by fans - and thus subject to whatever the fans believe to be true when they put the information into the Wiki. Thus one person could have inputted "early April" while another inputted "April 29th." I never remember any Cryptic podcasts or interviews starting early April, though.

    Suffice it to say that it will be sometime in April; and possably on a Thursday. :)
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    Later this month, almost certainly on a Thursday, is about as accurate as we can be for now.

    Speaking personally I hope for the later dates.

    Tribble is getting used properly to test the changes, and I'd rather the season was a week late and as polished as possible, than a week early and bugged.

    Where did you see "early April"? When the terrible arc site announced it they said late April. Not early...

    Actually I do believe Tues. 4/29/14 is the probable release date, as they usually do the big Season patch pushes on a Tues., so that by Thurs. they have the first triage patch (for major missed bugs and other issues); and that way, they expect less problems over the first weekend of release.

    Seasons being what they are, it will most likely be updated on a Tuesday, that way all the bugs can be worked out before the weekend. So I'm with Hypl, either the 15th or the 22nd.
