Been looking for some answers on this ship. Looked around and could only find older threads and none dealing specifically with fleet issue. How is this ship now with all the upgrades and consoles ? Is it now viable in pvp or pve only ? Does anyone know how the spinal lance compares to the Andorian overcharge, is the shotgun phaser when saucer separated weak ? Is it true when it saucer separates the dps becomes comparable to an escort ?
Would greatly appreciate feedback on this ship from the community.

I'm no min-maxer but the consensus on the Fleet Gal-X is that while some of the fundamental problems related to its damage output - weak tactical abilities and a still-too-low turn rate - remain, it's much more viable now than it was before the "reboot". The saucer compatibility brings up its turn rate quite a bit, 4 tactical consoles gives it comparable tac capacity to top-end DPS cruisers, and the Phaser Lance Shotgun can crit for some crazy damage (though it's still situational and hampered by Phaser exclusivity).
Saucer Separation and the turn rate bonus from having the 2-piece antimatter spread set also helps it mount dual cannons more effectively, though if you want to do that on a cruiser it's probably better if you grab an Avenger instead.
The hangar bay also allows additional flexibility and off-DPS from Elite Scorpions or Yellowstone Runabouts.
As for "DPS comparable to an escort", it's worth noting that escorts are no longer the king of measurable DPS. Now it's cruisers with beams spamming Aux2batt with the "Marion doff and Directed Energy Modulation.
TL;DR it's better than before, but still not top-tier.
There's at least a dozen different threads dealing with the fleet version.
Better than the non-fleet version.
Neither since better ships exist.
Andorian overcharge hits hard and has no accuracy issues.
Shotgun is much improved over the lance.
Maneuverability becomes escort-like. DPS? The highest parses posted from the ship are all A2B builds.
