I've been in the game for about a week or so.
The server is only up half the time. Seems odd for a game with such a strong IP and being a AAA title (at least at release).
Is this what I can expect? Has PWE dropped this to such a low priority that server stability/availability isn't a worthy issue to address on their part?

CRUISERS NEED A 206% HULL BUFF
Recently we have had Server troubles, but it applied to every PWE game, not just STO. And STO is not a low priority in PWE's eyes if the team continues to get funding to create new content on a monthly basis.

Exaggerations aside, it's been an unusually rough week for the game. It's not what you should expect normally.
Given the month-long outage at the launch of Season 8, I'll probably just patch the game and then wait at least a few days, if not an entire week, before logging back in to actually play.

I guess sesason 8 really was a failure, it can't even inspire the same kind of irrational hate.
Same thing as I was thinking. Every time a new season comes out, my mind goes back to LoR.

Um unless I lost a month somewhere there has never been a month long outage.

To be fair, you've hit a bad week.
Outages tend to cluster, which when you think about it is predictable.
This is just a mini cluster.
October/November when a lot of players could not enter the game. I am a proud member of the Persistent fleet, aka Leper Fleet.
Still not knowing what bug caused it, it lasted exactly one month until we were able to play again. A patch was succesfully tested in the third week but wasn't released until the next patch day.
I know there is a difference, but for us it was the same at this time
It was especially nice because no Event or Sale was expanded
Blaming cryptic because your isp pathing takes you through a bad zone is like blaming the airline because a blizzard hits your destination and you can't fly there. It's not the airline's fault and your isp routing isn't cryptic's fault.
Most of us had no problems logging in back when season 8 came out. I never missed a day.
First, you just hit a bad week. normally its fine. there are sporadic problems throughout the year but generally its fine.
and when there are problems, unfortunately they are not simple fixes that can be tracked down and fixed in 5 minutes.
??? A couple of hundreds all over the world did not have access to the game right after the update for exactly a month. And I don't think we have the same IPs.

Again, not disagreeing with you about the problem, just trying to get across that a small group of people isn't a significant number. The vast majority of us had no issues: 99% of us.
What -every year the game is down for the whole Bieletember! You just now - Just shortly after the Thanksgiving, when the new month starts, you know it happens.
Or do you belong to the people that miss a whole month every year?
It's something you can expect every now and then (like every few months or so, or maybe a couple of times a year, like that) but not all the time, no. These kinds of occasional problems are par for the course with MMOs, Cryptic aren't the worst for this sort of thing by a long chalk, they're pretty good on the whole.
