I'm sleepy but have to run Mirror invasion twice

Just got home, but I don't have many wiggle days left on my quest to finish the event. I'm not gonna rant and rail like some others, but...

Tonight doesn't feel "Fun". More "necessary". I know the even was extended (it's the only reason I have ANY wiggle days).

There's got to be some way to balance the events a little bit more, right? Some sort of buffer? Maybe let us stack up 2 to 3 "extras" but only let us cash in one a day? Something?

But... I'm not terribly discontent. Just tired. Looking forward to season 9. I Really enjoy the game.

Loading is done... time to grind

    Wait, it's a 21 day event, that requires 14 items, and 2 days had connection issues.

    Where'd all your previous wiggle go?

    I'm fairly busy. Had a run of about 4-5 days early on where I didn't have time to log on. Busy weekend ahead, pretty sure I'm gonna miss at least one or two nights. I should be able to finish the event, but I had to play tonight to be sure.

    I'm not trying to troll or be a jerk. I really like this game. I just can't always find the time to finish the timed events and it's a little annoying.

    But... I know the game can't be tailored to my schedule.

    It's a small, small gray cloud in an otherwise open blue sky.

    I'm sort of know what you mean OP. I actually like the event - with the exception of the infuriating interruptions to the rifts' closures - but sometimes it just feels like an obligation.

    Yes, I know I don't have to do it, that I don't have to finish it in a hurry, and I certainly didn't have to do it in all of the characters. And I also know that it wouldn't feel like that if it was just one or two characters.

    But to me it ends today. Unless there's something that prevents it, I'll finish the event with the 6 toons, and from today on I can still play the mirror invasion without feeling I have or need to but because I want to. The same happened to the Crystalline event. It was a bore doing it on a schedule (and I couldn't finish it), and now I do it every now and then just for fun, and I like it.

    It did start to become a bit of a chore - unlucky choice of word as I do know it is neither required nor demanded to do the event. Yet I somehow feel obligated to do it and I actually like the concept behind the event as it does promote team play and the use of a more versatile group of ships where DPS is not the only issue. It will work out but it seems actually easier to use science abilities to hold ships, science ships to close rifts, cruisers to activate the generators and to pull aggro from the station if things are starting to go south in a PUG...

    During these repetitive grinds, it would be nice to have a few varieties of the mission to mix things up a bit. Change the layout, the background, the pace, or something random so each time you play, you don't know what to expect till you warp in. Might make it more fun and less of a chore.

    I'm doing it on 15 characters. Not fun, but pretty rewarding.

    If you're having trouble, just keep looking forward to the rewards.

    Fifteen....wow....I'm doing it on nine and it's frustrating enough when people don't seem to know what they are doing on elite to the point you end up getting more marks running normal... :confused:
    If you've come to the forums to complain about the AFK system, it's known to be bugged at the moment.

    I feel the same way and it's because there's no way to do the event faster. You can't DPS your way through the rifts and finish the event, you have to wait the full 11 minutes no matter what and that makes it feel monotonous.

    Not that too many elite PUGs I've been in could DPS their way through it anyway but that's another rant :)

    this is great news, I should get number 14 tonight so then im into bonus runs.
    with the new end date I estimate about 11 more runs for bonuses failing any more outages,
    that's 22000 dil bonus plus 50000 dil main total = 72000 dil per character sweet!

    plus all the other bonus marks.

    this just reaffirms my belief that sto is the best game ever.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    I use the escape key, the first cut scene is skippable. To bad the second one is not.
