Proton Rifle from Devidian missions a "tip of the hat" to Ghostbusters?

Just finished watching both Ghostbusters movies and it occurred to me the similarities between the Synchronic Proton Distortion Prototype Assault Rifle and the Proton Packs used in those movies. Was this intentional?

    One of the Engineering Kits uses a proton pack-like graphic to go with the gun. I think that it is a fabrication type.

    Did you only just now figure that out?

    Have you not seen people refer to the Synchronic Proton Distortion Prototype Assault Rifle as "Ghostbuster gun"

    Great starter weapon against the borg. Two energy types and it hits for decent damage.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    One of my Friends had a Ghostbuster captain. It was great.

    Season 9 will let you go full Ghostbusters with every career, thanks to sending kit visuals to the tailor, without differentiating between careers.

    Now if only we got some sort of consumable ectoplasm to go with it...to make us mostly invisible but not quite.
    My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
