ok im pretty new here and haveing tough time findiing in forums
what weapons are best im a comander with a heavy cruiser
and seen a lot of diffrent weapons but how to chose best for what is my problem
there really is no 'best' energy type, but ones that are handy depending on build/situation
Given your still leveling i wouldnt worry much.. however my advice is..
Cruisers better choice of weapons are generally beam arrays (the one beam kind, not dual beam), and the best cruiser tactic is 'broadsiding' - flying parallel to your enemy keeping your fore and aft beam arrays in the line of fire,
you may even wish to have a torp in fore and/or mines in aft (at lower levels mines/torps are still viable sources of damage)
If you are really wanting to build for damage its adviced to get the same type of energy weapon (all of one type phaser disruptor etc) and buy tactical consoles that match your energy weapon e.g. a disruptor induction coil,
But like i said, at the early game you dont really need to get specialized
Hope that helps :P
[Combat (Self)] Your Bite deals 2378 (1475) Physical Damage(Critical) to Spawnmother.
Yeah, as a commander, you'll out-level your current weapons (and ship!) pretty quick.
But in general, only use one type of energy weapon, one type of torpedo, and use tac consoles which match up with those types to increase your damage.
As for which type specifically? Well, each "type" has small, randomized bonus powers. These typically only have a 2.5% chance of occurring...
Phasers have a small chance of shutting down either an opponent's Weapons, Shields, Engines, or Aux battery for a couple seconds.
Polarons can reduce the enemy's power levels.
Disruptors can debuff an enemy's damage resistance.
Tetryon have a chance to do extra shield damage (they're considered "the worst" because then the beam doesn't do anything extra once the shields are down; however getting shields down faster means you can hit the hull with Torpedoes and finish the fight quicker, so... yeah).
Plasma has a chance to "burn" the target and cause a small amount of damage over time for a few seconds.
And Anti-Proton has a higher chance to Crit, as well as extra crit damage. This is considered "the best" because it's pretty easy to buff your crit chance in other ways and ensure you're almost always doing double damage. Also it's red and looks awesome. However I don't think these types are available at Commander level.
Basically, each "bonus" is just that, a bonus, and all beams of the same rating and rarity will do the exact same damage. Until you have abilities or consoles which compliment these very small chances (for instance, Polarons compliment drain builds), just pick what looks nice and have fun!

There is a great thread here with a lot of useful information (and a lot of arguing, typical to these forums) about weapon energy types ...
All weapons have a "Firing Arc" And this is a very important consideration. A basic rule is, the wider the Firing Arc the less damage each individual shot will do, but the enemy can be kept within range of the weapon more often.
So for your Cruiser, which are generally slower and less maneuverable, it's normally recommend to use Beam Arrays which have a very wide Firing Arc and you would use the technique listed above as "Broadsiding". (Think ancient seafaring "Battleship" where you turn sideways and fire all your weapons at an enemy)
Ships do not have "sides" per se, so if your ship has 8 weapons (4 for, and 4 aft) if you get the angle right, you can technically fire all 8 at once on the enemy.
Hovering your mouse of the weapon icon on your tray will show a faint glowing "semicircle" which is the "Firing Arc" of the current weapon, so a Beam Array with it's 270 Deg Arc has a "sweet spot" where the for and aft arrays 'overlap"
Weapons such as Cannons and Dual Heavy Cannons, have a MUCH smaller Firing Arc, but do MUCH more damage per shot. These are generally recommended for faster smaller ships, such as Escorts and sometime Science ships, as they are able to turn quick enough so that the enemy is within the weapons "Arc".
ok kinda figured that but its nice to have it confirmed im actually useing a turret cann as well and beams
but how the hell are you supposed to kill that doomsday device
ive attcked from every angle and possible way fireing right down its throat and gotten absolutly 0 damage to it ??:(

The mission with the doomsday ship is special. The ship is *immortal* and can only be killed by hitting it repeatedly with the "harphengh torpedo" (you should have one, I forget if they gave it to you or put you in a loaner ship or what) from the front (where the big shot of doom comes out). It takes 5 or 10 shots. They told you this in the quest text.

Yea I Got It And I Gues Its Just Not Fireing Cause Ive Sent Tons At It And No Results At All And I Mean Righ Down Its Throat Too
There is a daily Asteroid Mining mission under the "Available" tab when you press the letter "L". A female Ferengi will offer you the opportunity to mine dilithium. You will need to go to the Beta Ursae sector block. The mining asteroid is near DS9.
I am guessing by now you have some refined dilithium crystals because you will need to buy an EV suit to go out into space. It will cost you 100 defined dilithium crystals. The suit can be bought at the mining station from one of the Ferengi standing around. You basically put on the suit, accept the mission if you have not done so yet, then click the button to start mining.
Mining is a mini-game, there is a console when you initially arrive at the mining asteroid where you can practice. The amount of dilithium ore depends on your score. At worse you will probably get 80 ores and at best it is 200 ores per mining site. There are 5 mining sites on the surface of the asteroid so you can get anywhere from 400 to 1000 ores per day. Actually, it is 20 hour cool down.
You need to score at least 700 points in the mini game to get 200 ores per site.
there is no need to buy an EV suit with dil. You can get one from the exchange, or from the step between the stars mission, or from the spacewalk DS9 mission, and a couple of other places. If you have a basic one you can get about 800 blue quality ones off nukara for doing a round of missions there (and these blue ones can be found in the exchange, .... should be cheap ...)

is this aglitch or what?
No idea which part you are on? If you have defeated the boss in space, and reported to him, you are done here. That should have rewarded you with a sword or something .
thanks for all the tips you guys sent
i finnaly made vice admiral and have found a system that works well for me
but now i just got the solange ev suit and all of a sudden no suit will activate
ive even uninstalled and reloaded game
ive tried the old suits as well none will show the action bar
any suggestions??
i have sent a support and bug report but i need to mine dilthium

Do you like to...
This is something you have to decide first before you can start deciding on weapon types...
