Ban from playing?

I seem to have been banned from joining any of the pve online missions?

I can't play any for about just over an hour!

There's a ticking down red time on my main control ship screen and if I try to join a game list I am told I been banned from playing any of them for this red time?

Why, I done nothing wrong!

So why the ban from playing lists?

Anyone know why this has happened to me?

Considering you tripped the AFKer penalty you must have done something or nothing at all in a Fleet Action.

The mini-ban also results from leaving certain pve missions early..

moonbeam, did you leave any mission like the borg ones recently?

I had that a few days ago it said something like 'You cannot queue from this map' - pretty sure it was a bug.

No I left the new one for this weekend were you have to go by shuttlecraft with your awayteam to a icemoon base to check on a starfleet core of enginers who are out of contact with starfleet for too long?

I was doing it fine until about half way through the game there was a power unit that I had to shut down by turning off these huge switchs and got into a room with my awayteam and could not get out of it until I found and turned off the switches?

there was knee deep water in the room and on my mini map it showed that the last switch was uboe me on a slim ledge which we had to run up to by a long slim shope and I turned off one switch ok and the mini map showed aa 2nd switch around the corner of this area I and my team got around to it and it was flashing showing it was the one next to turn off?

I got up to it like you normally do and nothing happened?
No strip with the words turn of the switch showed up for me to click on unlike all other switches or controls I done before!

It was the only one to do in the full room?
And in the middle of the yellow mini map cycle onscreen?

I did all I could to turn it off, even hitting it with my hands and gun butt but it just flashed away and would not work?

Now the person whom has done the game for us to play had said at the start misson write up of the mission that he had made it just for the special weekend event?

So I had now choice but to drop the game! since I could not make that control switch work so it could have been a code bug in the game?

So at the end I was asked to rate the game?
I said it was a good idea for a game but then told him about the fact of that non working switch stopping me from carrying on the rest of the game? and gave it 1 star rating because of this bad fault of the control switch stopping me from carrying on play the good game!

Then after being returned to our starship I went onto the pve missions list to try one of the other missions and could not get onto any of the queues there getting green writing zip across the top of the missons list it said you can't join any missions for a set time?

Then I seen the red timer ticking sown in the bottom left hand of the missions list I use it was at about 1h 50 minutes when I looked at it?

I had never had that happen to me in any other mission were I just could not finsh it for whatever reason and sropped the mission?

So I don't know why it happened? was there a bug in the game stopping me turning off that one switch or was it because I gave it 1 star rating or what?

I did sfter all tell him there was a switch that was flashing which meant that one was meant to be done and it was the only one in the room, But it just would not work?

    Odd.

I had an odd one a while back where I got an AFK penalty during Crystaline Elite - despite not being AFK and firing into the thing.

Took a while to get the dev's to give me a non auto-responder reply but it seemed to be a one off bug thats not happened since.

Unfortunately the devs failed to add a "surrender" option in with the "can't quit anymore" option.

I've been caught in it too, though the game informed me I shouldn't quit. Didn't have much choise since 2 of the crew didn't even make it into the event (1 Non join, 1 Limbo). So even 100% surrender agreement wouldn't have worked.

I've also gotten the AFK ban crashing while waiting in line for events.
Devs got some work to do here

I got banned once because I was playing one of the Borg Elite mission where you attempt to destroy the Borg Queen in space. It's the one where there are two huge Borg ships (like cylinders) that shoots a one shot kill lance weapon unless you have at least one ship that's like within 7km of the Borg Tetrahedron ship.

I think all of us somehow managed to die around the same time and because of that no one was within 7km of the Borg ship. Every time I try to approach I get killed. I attempted like 10 times, I think the respawn time got up to 80 seconds. Needless to say everyone AFK'ed due to frustration... I was the last to leave and got banned for an hour or two.

In an incident yesterday I lost connection with the serves and got booted out of the game during the Borg Infected: The Conduit elite mission. Logged back in as quickly as possible and I reappeared back in the mission in the exact spot my ship was at. I seems the game does not ban you for connection issues which is a good thing.

They really need to include some sort of mechanic that if more then half your team has split, the rest can quit penalty free.
It's not my fault if you feel trolled by my Disco ball... Sorry'boutit.

I incurred the penalty once in CE Elite thru no real fault of my own. When I logged in to the instance all my BoFF's were off station and none of my BoFF powers were up. It would take too long to try and put everything back so I tried to run the mission as is but that meant I was doing little damage. Then MAJOR lag hit, so bad that everything was more frozen than not. Playing the game was impossible but I stayed in the instance to the end. Unfortunately I did so little damage during the run that it counted me AKF . Just meant I had to find something else to do... oh well.

Such elitism is the reason AFK and leaver penalties were put in. I think the game didn't need them, but I'm not in the mood to beat that dead targ.

    Odd.

I had a problem with this part of that mission, if you stand with your back to the switch you will see a pipe with stuff gushing out, you need to walk along this pipe to the point where you get a prompt on screen to shut off the leak, click on the prompt and after it has done its thing return to the switch, you should now get the prompt to throw the switch.
this bit is not very clear and I cant even remember how I twigged what to do so it could use a little tweeking at this stage to make it more obvious, other then that it wasn't a bad effort.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

You were playing a Foundry mission. Which wasn't done for this specific weekend, as I've played it myself weeks/months ago (i forget exactly when). Didn't have an issue at that part, but did take a while to figure out what to do for that final pipe.

But it shouldn't have created any bans. Foundry missions can be played and dropped as often as you like. Sounds like you hit a bug.

Yup, this is indeed a Foundry mission, played it myself this weekend.

I have never heard of a Foundry mission giving a ban for the general PvE queue before thou. This must be a bug, and a serious one at that if a Foundry mission did it.

Might be connected with the recent Foundry weekend, but I find that hard to believe, since I'm sure the devs would have mentioned the possibility of getting banned.

And you said two hours?? That does sound like an AFK penalty for an STF or one of the other queue missions.

You should bug it however, so that the devs can take a look at it, just in case this is a bug that has found it's way into the Foundry...

Just pure speculation, but maybe the mechanism that was rewarding the marks boxes on the Foundry missions this weekend accidentally included an AFK switch of some sort? Never heard of a Foundry mission tripping this type of thing, but the Foundry rewards behind the scenes this past weekend were different, after all.

    Definitely worth a bug report.

LOL, so the AFK penalty is inexplicably effecting foundry missions, but not the MI event.

    Gotcha.

    The bans work as follows:

1hr: leaver's penalty during any of the designated STFs, usually resulting from leaving early.

2hr: AFK penalty during any of the designated STFs, usually resulting from being AFK, not aiding the party in any useful way, acting as though you are AFK when you are actually not, not providing sufficient means of dps somewhere in the neighborhood of 1k dps, and instead simply floating about doing nothing but leeching.
