I'm in a small fleet and it is taking forever to get our projects done. One big hurdle is projects requiring upwards of 90 doffs to complete. So how about this. Why not make it so all ranks of doffs can be used for the completion of the projects (Green, Blue, Purple) in addition to the commons. It would be really easy to assign a value to the doffs for instance Common=one, Green=3 common, Blue=7 common, and purple=10 common for example. Well, it my not be that easy from the programmers point but...At least this way all of the doff resources can be used. I generally end up putting all of the doffs I don't use on projects on the exchange (meaning green and up) because I have no use for them otherwise. I have all the doffs in my crew that I need. So why not let us apply them all to our fleet projects.
Just a thought to help us out.
Filling the doff requirements transitions into being the easiest of the requirements to fill once you pass a certain tier - though it does remain tedious to do it. You'll need empty slots in your roster and a foundation of fleet credits to work with, (which you'll likely easily have built up by that point), but it's much cheaper and easier to spend 200-400 fleet credits per doff than it is the 20-40k per doff on the exchange.
I get that but your missing the point. Everyone has green, blue or purple doffs they want to get rid of, so why not be able to use them on the projects instead of throwing them on the exchange?
In the fleet I am a member of, which is small, Myself and another guy are the only people who add doffs to these projects. Sure, people throw one or two in here and there as they doffs from doff assignments but the bulk of it lands on me and this other guy. I always have extra doffs from running assignments like cultural exchange or the officer exchange assignments. I just want to use these in the projects to. It would help out a lot.
While it can take time I have been using the personnel officer at starfleet academy to exchange my unused blues for three greens. Then the greens for three whites. Take a little bit of time but it is more useful than selling them.
This problem could easily be solved if the DOff grinder would give DOffs of the same profession or at least the same type as those being ground.
I'd like to see the reverse, also. Put in five (or however many it takes) common chefs, get back an uncommon chef.

Have you considered recruiting more members in you fleet?
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

All I do know is that is one hell of a lot of DOFF's.
Not as easy as you might think, especially in a small fleet.
