After the Holidays I decided to reboot my KDF Tac. I deeply reconsidered the Nature of my KDF character and decided that the best way to proceed was to delete my character. I have since developed a KDF Eng, or a combat Engineer if you prefer. Two points are I appear to have over looked.
First, My Eng does not automatically close the distance for Melee Combat. I believe the Tac did this. I need this character to use a Bat'leth so I'd like to know what I missed and what I'm doing wrong. If someone can explain this mechanism to me I would appreciate it.
Second, I previously had the T5 Kamarang that picked up during last year's Temporal Ambassador, but now as I approach level 40 I'm looking for it and can't find it. Was I incorrect in asumming it would be there?
UPDATE 2015: My KDF Eng was a flop. I prefer to the fly the BoP (otherwise what's the point of being a klingon), and as pointed else where in the forum, Eng characters lack the peak damage to make Escorts/BoP work. The increased survivablity brought by the ENG was Minor.
1. the lunge thing you were doing was a tac-kit ability called lunge, nothing else can get it, though i think swords have an attack that closes the difference slightly.
2. The T5 kamarang was ONLY for the third anniversary and is now unobtainable. The Mirror universe Negh'var has the same BOFF layout though
Mr. Mew Master 101
I was afraid of that. Maybe it was a kit power, I remember the grenade satchel but I don't remember the other kits I used frequently. I kept looking for a trait that would resolve the auto-lunge problem. As for the ship, I may sound heretical but I have Zero interest in the Negh'Var (I'll take a look at the mirror universe version Just incase you're onto something). I'm seriously losing my patience with the Vorcha. I do have the Dyson Destroyer and that carrier they gave away last summer. Those should hold me until I can pull out the B'rel. Anyway I could just do Duty officer and exploration stuff until I can get back to the B'rel. But first I need to Finish Spectre AGAIN.
thank you for your sage advice.
The mirror heavy cruiser and mirror negh'var were created/released in response to the fact the T5 Kamarang and ambassador were the only promo ship that is not possible to get anymore. They have the exact same Boff layout as the 3rd anniversary ship. Word of warning though (and something i figured out myself) the Mirror Negh'Var is about 2 million on the exchange at the moment, yet the mirror heavy cruiser is only about 200,000, not sure why.

One has 9 turn, 39k hull, and a cloak, the other has 8 turn and 36k hull. Also, only one of the two looks like an iconic Klingon Battle Cruiser. And happens to be the one with slightly better stats.

Simple numbers, the Fed players open the boxes more than us KDF as we know the chances of getting something good is about as good as finding an honest Ferengi businessman.
I've also noticed that despite almost a year since the LoR expansion with increase KDF content, the Federation is still the faction with the most novice players and so are drawn in more to the hopes of getting that Orb Weaver, Galor, D'Kora etc. That being said, the bugs and lack of content is still a major issue for us here on the red side.

All useful information. I decided to put down my ship token on Vo Quv. As a vanity item the more ludicrous the better. I am terrible at fling ships this big. The MU Negh Var looks better than the IKS but I dont have the 2mil in ec to make it happen.

Not sure why they didn't put it in the Fleet store for 200K FC like the freebie Oddy/Bort.

Klink ships tend to be worth more on Ex, because they are A: Unique ships, and B: Harder to find as very few Klingons still exist: Most are now Romulans...
