I'm not ok with dance parties going on, up on the window overlooking the docking bay. Don't lie, you know you would do this if there wasn't collision there.

    Who? ME!!!

    Nah.

Just not something easily accomplishable, and we've got a lot on our plate already. If we find a good/easy way to do it, I guarantee we'd find a place for your ship, even if it wasn't front and center. (i.e. maybe outside, so big ships had room?)

I think separate docking and undocking sequences make more sense than trying to squeeze the player's ship in with the other ships. It might be easier to accomplish too. A docking sequence doesn't seem too different from some of the cutscenes we have in episode missions. The docking and undocking sequences should be optional, so the player should still have the option to beam into and out of ESD.

If trekkerchick still wants to view her ship in dock, then maybe there should be a turbolift to a separate room where the player's ship is displayed in the background like on the character selection screen. The docking sequence would bring the player to this room, and the undocking sequence would start from there.

Oh, yes. I've seen it, and experienced it quite a few times.
While Cryptic does love it's copy and paste, obviously I'm not suggesting a direct copy and paste from the tailor code. Portions would need overhauling. But the foundation for displaying the ship and it's settings is likely going to be the the same as it is in the original tailor screen. Just without the ability to interact with it and fixed it in world XYZ possition and scale.
And, despite what you may think, it's not that difficult to alter a geo's displayed XYZ scale, either. They are famous for ungodly miscalling of ship to ship, ship to station, interior, etc etc. So it's not unbelievable if they do it again to squeeze larger than possible ships within the Mushroom Cap. For example, even having the Oddy within it is questionable. Yet, it's been in there for quite some time now. Some how. Like a ship in a bottle.. not sure how they get it out through the doors

I was about to suggest that. We have 2 viewpoints now to place our ship.
    Outside would be perfect.
We beam onto the Station anyway instead if walking through an airlock ( that said, when you redo DS9, please let us enter and exit through those big red, rolling airlock doors instead if beaming onto the promenade). ;)

Taco... for clarification the current Spacedock deck is actually well into the "stem" of the mushroom, in between the mushroom and above the bell right?
Don't suppose we could finally have our active ship be displayed to ourselves, docked in the ESD shipyard, instead of the latest flavor of the month ship...?

I know it's a lot easier to have one ship displayed to everyone instead of an individual ship to an individual player, but it would go a long way for immersion. And it would drop the "buy our latest toy!" in-your-face billboard feel...
The hilarious thing is that the our latest new toy thing is absolutely 100% CANON.

    "Would you look at that."
"My Friends....the great experiment....the Excelsior...ready for trial runs."
"I hear she's supposed to have transwarp drive."
"Aye....and if my Grandmother had wheels she'd be a wagon."
"Come come Mr. Scott young minds, new ideas, be tolerant."

Even Kirk had to put up with the new hotness.

Then when Sulu had saved up enough Dilithium, he bought one. :D
Looking at the shipyard versions to the player versions, the texture and poly upscaling variance is extremely minor, namely the ramscoops only.
But, well, I will give you that. It's something I've always wanted before they started popping out these alien monster ships and the Romulan version of Pandarens...

However, I am still holding out for the day that my Intrepid doesn't fit on DS9's Runabout landing pads, and my Nebula doesn't fit perfectly in K7's shuttle hanger.. to this day, it still makes me HNNNNNNNGGG when I see the stations.
I kind of understand why they upscaled DS9, because it is a small station overall...after all it's designed to operate with Cardassian vessels.

Maybe in a future moment they could upgrade her to this.

    http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/Deep_Space_9_%28II%29

That would resolve a great many issues. Maybe have the Undine destroy DS9 in a future feature series. Though I suppose that would trigger as many legal headaches as getting the Vesta.

I thought that DS9 was already on its second iteration? The truth is the only thing I see that could use alteration besides a few scale issues, like widening the Promenade so that you can see out the windows on the top floor from the ground floor (or making the second level a lower altitude) is the Quark's integration. Quark's always had an open door and an open window behind the bar. The tech that they're using for the new location of Club 47 could maybe be adapted. The only issue is that since Quark's is its own instance and has missions that occur within its walls that could interfere with mission progression and just general crowd control on the station.
I'm not that person, but I have that problem, too.

See? Blurry. I'm seeing it as, like, PS2-type graphics here?

Is that an issue of ESD's textures or your settings? I've got pretty much max settings and my ESD looks like the gallery pics posted earlier.

Not sure I understand where you're talking about. But this is where current ESD is supposed to be.

Have you checked your Anti-aliasing settings under the display window? With the tribble update the graphics got reset and the options split into two menus, Anti-aliasing is under a separate menu than the other graphics options.

I've been looking up all of my presets and trying to fix it, but nothing works, though Taco said something in another thread about "Depth of Field being hosed", so it MIGHT be that, because on my game, the graphics look hideously blurry.

The new ESD looks great. I did notice today the exchange consoles were hovering about 12 feet in the air, but they did work.

    Ahhhhh.

I call the very next segment above that the stem which is where I thought it was. And that section where it is, is the bell.

The thing that I love is that you guys actually know where these things are. That's the type of dedication to detail that marks a true Star Trek fan.

Which I love by the way. The new settings work way better in my opinion. Can't wait for them to hit holodeck.

Well, I managed to get a glimpse of the new ESD and I have to say: I really love it. It looks astonishing (altough, of course, you see it's work in progress in some places).

One thing though: Some windows are looking too transparent (e.g. the windows of the new tailor location). Sometimes you don't see if there's glass or not. That should be made a bit more intransparent (or maybe you can do something with lighning - e.g. like the new admirals office).

I love it! Looks much more striking and more Starfleet-y then previous versions.
    BUT
I bought Caitians to be able to jump on top of the lamps at the exchange... and they are gone.
Could you please add some similar surfaces in the new ESD? Otherwise, I'd like a refund for that species. :P
Also, the club 47/off duty area seems to be gone/much smaller, and I'd like to see that return in some form.

There is just an entrance area now to the new Club 47 , which is to be added at a later time. You can see the door frame that will lead to the new club.
