Next, we make the the inertial dampers are working by throwing the ship to Warp 9.99 and let you know everything you could ever want to know about being the Captain of the new Fleet Dreadnaught Cruiser before finally cruising at Warp 5 into Feedback and listening to what you have to say!

Hmm, I thought this show was supposed to include an interview with one of my fleet's leaders. But when the time came on Friday, the interviewer never called.

Well it looks like you found some filler.

Hey FPN, this is Jayce. Enzo and I seem to have missed each other Friday night. Sorry to disappoint but we will reschedule as soon as possible! We are excited about having him on the show just have been running into issues coordinating for which I apologize.

And here I was all prepared to be snarky... Enzo's Canadian so I'm sure he's all ready to apologize to you. I look forward to hearing that interview.

RE: Ship class vs Player Class.

If it was player-class based, this would affect the objectives because a science captain could fly an Escort or a Cruiser. It ultimately would continue to encourage DPS spam vs. Science or Engineering focus.

This ship based focus forces non-cruisers/sci ships to take on the Tanking role and draw fire, while the cruisers and the Science ships take care of the objectives. This gives direct benefits to the type of ship you fly versus flying what has the most firepower.

If this trend continues, we might see players flying different ships than what goes pew pew pew, possibly bringing some life into underplayed vessels.

As far as new ESD goes, I LOVE the new design. I think ESD might replace DS9 as my usual hang out site.

RE: Systems - I don't want to see the Sol System and DS9 space go away because they're a little bit of immersion.

I use Earth orbit to take pictures of my ship over the farside of Earth. They're also great places to show off your ship and its abilities to friends.

I'm sure they wouldn't go to the extreme of removing Earth Orbit --- but, it'd be nice to have the option of just going directly to ESD from Sector Space. I think it's just one of those "quality of life" type things that would help improve the player experience. Even if at a subconscious level.

Not really a QoL change, more a convenience one.

And there has to be a line that should not be crossed there.

We can already change ships and loadouts in space.

Even if we're in a quadrant with no station support, or behind enemy lines.

Convenience is ok, if applied judiciously.

However, convenience for convenience sake, regardless of IP or game mechanisms, is not a good direction for a game.

This podcast about the Mirror Event made me realize the class-specific bonuses should apply to captain type AND ship type.

For example, if you are a science captain in a cruiser you should be able to close the mirror universe rifts faster AND you should be able to transfer power more quickly to those orbiting stations.

This way Cryptic would support the idea that your choice of captain class and your choice of ship class matters in the game.
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."

Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.
