Well it looks like you found some filler.

And here I was all prepared to be snarky... Enzo's Canadian so I'm sure he's all ready to apologize to you. I look forward to hearing that interview.
If it was player-class based, this would affect the objectives because a science captain could fly an Escort or a Cruiser. It ultimately would continue to encourage DPS spam vs. Science or Engineering focus.
This ship based focus forces non-cruisers/sci ships to take on the Tanking role and draw fire, while the cruisers and the Science ships take care of the objectives. This gives direct benefits to the type of ship you fly versus flying what has the most firepower.
If this trend continues, we might see players flying different ships than what goes pew pew pew, possibly bringing some life into underplayed vessels.
As far as new ESD goes, I LOVE the new design. I think ESD might replace DS9 as my usual hang out site.
RE: Systems - I don't want to see the Sol System and DS9 space go away because they're a little bit of immersion.
I use Earth orbit to take pictures of my ship over the farside of Earth. They're also great places to show off your ship and its abilities to friends.
TRIBBLE Hydra! Hail Janeway!
Not really a QoL change, more a convenience one.
And there has to be a line that should not be crossed there.
We can already change ships and loadouts in space.
Even if we're in a quadrant with no station support, or behind enemy lines.
Convenience is ok, if applied judiciously.
However, convenience for convenience sake, regardless of IP or game mechanisms, is not a good direction for a game.
For example, if you are a science captain in a cruiser you should be able to close the mirror universe rifts faster AND you should be able to transfer power more quickly to those orbiting stations.
This way Cryptic would support the idea that your choice of captain class and your choice of ship class matters in the game.
Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.
