I've no doubt that you guys (at Cryptic) already have the next Lock Box planned, if not ready to roll. As with many others here, I fear it's an Undine Lock Box that will shamefully sell, and make you a tidy profit. Regardless, I wouldn't mind if you went back and worked on the old lock boxes some more.
I'd also like to see bridge officers within them, that being, CUSTOMIZABLE bridge officers.
The Cardassian Lock Box
* Keldon Class in the Lobi Store / Hideki Class as Fighters
* Cardassian Bridge Officer (male and female variety of all career choices); random drops, 2nd rarest item under the Galor reward
Dominion Lock Box
* Battlecruiser in the Lobi Store (a true Dominion Cruiser)
* Jem Hadar Bridge Officer (male variety of Tac/Eng career choices); random drops, 2nd rarest item under the Heavy Escort reward
* Vorta Bridge Officer (male and female variety of Eng/Sci career choices); random drops, 2nd rarest item under the Heavy Escort reward
Voth Lock Box
* Voth Bridge Officer (male and female variety of all career choices); random drops, 2nd rarest item under the ship reward
Tal Shiar Lock Box
* Hirogen Bridge Officer (male variety of Tac/Sci career choices); random drops, 2nd rarest item under the ship reward
There are options to update the other lock boxes too, though the above are the ones I'd see as realistic updates. I for one would not want to see a playable Tholian or Elachi Bridge Officer. No!
Don't think the Keldon or Hideki fighters will be added due to the devs regretting adding the Galor and it causing problems for a future Cardassian mini-faction.
The Dominion Battlecruiser looks like it won't be added since they are limited to 3 "lockbox" ships, 1 lockbox ship, 1 lobi ship, and 1 Doff Pack Event ship and the Dominion is already filled up with the Escort Carrier, Dreadnought Carrier, and Attack Ship.
More unique Bridge Officers are always cool and I would like to see Tholian Bridge Officers that are able to walk on the other floors on Tholian bridge since there is no ceiling.
I quite fancy a Mirror Universe lockbox, with the Mirror GalX as the main prize. maybe phasers with a special proc for the weapons, and unique DOFF assignments where the reward is a mirror DOFF
I don't see why people are so sure its going to be a Undine lockbox...maybe Undine inspired...I figure the closest we will get is something like the Tal Shiar lockbox...they were Borgified ships...maybe we will get some kind of techno-organic fused ships but I just don't see us getting a raw Undine lockbox.
I could be wrong but them putting in a pure Undine lockbox would be even worse than if they gave us flyable Borg ships
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

everything points to an undine lockbox, its also smart on cryptic part to take advantage of their rewamp on the undine ships, makes perfect sense when you think about it(from a profit standpoint), as well as cryptic usual MO.
Lifers getting free lock box unlocks (Limited to a certain number per day to prevent rare item flooding).
Please note I am NOT a Lifer and really have no intention to become one.
But with no new X-day perks being released Lifers do need another bonus to entice them.
I bring this up as, I've been playing DCUO lately and Paid members can open Promethium boxes (Essentially the same thing, they even have a chase item (Auras), as a lock box in STO) for free, free/freemium members have to buy keys.
In this case item flooding is controlled in two ways.
1. Promethium boxes don't drop that often
2. The Auction house has a usage fee proportional to the requested sale price, you pay that just for putting the item up so the more you charge the more you pay.

There would need to be some major changes to lockboxes if STO adopts DCUO's model. Lockboxes and lockbox rewards would no longer be tradeable or sellable. As far as I know, you can't trade Promethium items or Promethium boxes.

How does the lockbox Galor prevents a Cardassian faction?
How does the lockbox Galor prevents a Cardassian faction?
I said the devs have regretted adding the Galor because it causes problems for a possible future Cardassian faction not that it prevents a Cardassian faction. Either the Galor would have to be available to Cardassians for free or C-Store or through the lockbox. Requiring to open a lockbox to get a Cardassian ship for a Cardassian faction that is not from the 29th Century is just stupid. As well as violating the whole point of lockbox ships where they are supposed to be for ships that makes no sense for any playable faction to have. The other option is less stupid where there is no point to open a specific lockbox, but there would have to be some method to deal with the scenario if Cardassians open the Galor box.
I have a possible solution to the Cardassian Lock Box. Change it to either the True Way Lock Box or Obsidian Order Lock Box. The Obsidian Order did ally with the Tal Shiar in the shows so it could have some integrated Romulan tech or even cloak synergy. Make a change to the appearance somehow to differentiate it from the factional Galor. I own a Galor and would not mind the change if it meant making the Cardassian faction a bit easier.

Problem with the Obisidian Order is, it ceased to exist after DS9 3x21 " The Die is Cast" .. but I guess that's something Cryptic & the "almighty" Lobi Consortium could change ... True Way sounds reasonale though ...
Patch Notes : Resolved an Issue, where people would accidently experience Fun.

With regard to the Galor;
One of the Devs (no longer with us) said that it was a regret, that doesn't mean the entire team think of it that way. Add to the fact, if they regretted it that much, they wouldn't keep re-releasing the cardassian lock box when they have their 'mass-drop' between each new lock box.
The Lock Box Galor is a Fleet Level ship, a Cardassian faction could/would easily have the Galor as a T3 ship, and maybe a T5. They don't necessarily need a Fleet Galor; I'm sure the design team can release other Cardassian ships to make up for the lack of the more iconic one.
Maybe, just maybe, instead of having the Galor (which they've already released) Cardassian players would get that last remaining Dominion Battlecruiser as a choice ship, thus giving the Cardassians something unique over other factions because one of their core vessels has already been mass-used.

.
Exactly.
I get what starkaos said, as the lockbox ships are supposed to be "unique" but we shouldn't put aside a cardassian faction just because of a little detail. Those who have the ship would still have a unique version of the ship, only not cosmetically/visually. The mirror ships from lockboxes aren't all that different from the standard version either. I don't think people who own the "unique" Galor would mind loosing that uniqueness to have a cardassian faction.

Hell, they probably have the next 3 planned.

wouldn't it make more sense to put the Hirogen BOFF in the Hirogen box?
