Bug with Romulan Char and Officer Exchanges

Something I usually do with my Fed Character in order to feed doffs required by the starbase projects, is to grind-down purple, blue or green doffs all the way down to whites using either the Officer Exchange available at the Starfleet Academy or my own FED Starbase.

However this last weekend I rolled my first Romulan char, and since all the white, green and blue doffs i get as I level up are kind of useless to me (since I've got the EC to get the purple ones i need straight away); then i decided to grind down those as well, but I noticed that some of those romulan doffs do not appear as "slottable" in the officer exchange doff assignments, specifically some green doffs that i can't grind-down to whites in neither in Starfleet Academy nor the Romulan Command.

For what I've noticed, for example, when I choose the "Uncommon Duty Officer Exchange" option in Romulan Command, the assignment asks for Civilian and Uhlan ranks of doffs at uncommon; however the green romulan doffs I have in my roster are "Daise" rank, which doesn't match the Uhlan or Civilian the assignment intends to slot.

Same for the Officer Exchange is Starfleet Academy, if I choose the uncommon duty officer exchange it asks for Civilian, Ensign, Petty Officer, Specialist & Technician ranks at uncommon; so again my uncommon romulan doffs with "Daise" rank, cannot be slotted there.

So pretty much I'm stuck with uncommon doff i can't grind down to feed my starbase projects, and although I haven't had the chance to get more blue or purple romulan doffs. I'm not sure if this happens at all rarity levels as well.

Please Cryptic look into this and fix it ASAP before I'm stuck with tenths of doffs I cannot get rid of, and be forced to purchase extra doff slots that i do not need. One suggestion could be that you should allow any uncommon doff to be grinded down at any facility (be it romulan, klingon or fed) and not filtering for specific ranks of doffs.

    Will there be a dev answer to this or at least acknowledge it as a bug? or do i need to keep bumping and necroing this thread forever?

    I don't think many players approach it in this manner, so there's not many that have run into this problem. I occasionally use the upgrinder, which has a similar problem. (Yes, I know the upgrind is fairly wasteful of dilithium, but there aren't many other sources for actual Rom doffs)

    From what little I've seen of it, it only happens to the greens, and it is just a rank problem. Actually if you look at what you can slot into the grinder, some whites (mainly civvies I think) can actually slot in there.

    I'd just sell them on the exchange and move on.

    Is this just your initial complement of Doffs or is it randomly recruited ones too?

    I've seen this, but only on the doffs from the initial complement. (More specifically a green Reman that has the same rank that whites normally do)

    you can only grind down romulan doffs at new romulus command, you also can get double the doffs as the romulan tactical, engineering, science and civil cadra missions at new romulus command are not the same as the ones offered at starfleet academy.

    If you should be so lucky as to get an actual Romulan out of New Romulus Command, yes. The higher the quality of the DOFF, the better your chances are to get an ally instead. An excellent way to throw Dilithium out of the window...

    I should of read the op more carefully, I see you did try the one at new romulus command its odd because I do the same thing you do and have not run in to this problem guess I am just lucky.

    Well I think this doff came on the initial complement or whenever I ranked up, new doffs came with the rank. The problem is that i can't get rid of these doffs since they are bounded green ones. So i can't grind them or sell it on exchange. Maybe dismiss it but still doesn't address the problem that this is a bug and I would like to see it fixed sometime and as I suggested maybe allow any Personel Office to grind down or up any doff of the same rarity, regardless if it is romulan, fed or klink. That way this would save lots of problems.

    For example another thing i can't explain is why we can't degrind the ferra doffs that come when ranking up the cxp ranks. Most of them are useless once you start slotting only purples on your doff assignments and you cannot degrind them to at least serve as starbase food.

    You could send them to Bajor or wherever. Obviously that's not an option for Civilians, but it works for the rest.

    That's because those are NOT green doffs but white. "Daise" is the lowest rank of Romulan doff, for common doffs.

    The Romulan faction dark green border can be mistaken for the Uncommon bright green border if you're not careful. But look at the doff's name, it will be in white.

    The one I'm thinking of is definitely a green doff. But somehow he's a daise anyways....
