    THAT WAS AWESOME!

What a great group of people! You made my first non-PUG such a pleasure. Everyone were working together; helping each other - outside and during the missions!

The only problems I had (besides getting my team settings fixed) was getting my Gal-R to not overshoot my destinations.

    Trizeo1, your enthusiasm is infectious.

Thanks for a great evening, see you again soon!

(BTW Thanks to everyone for your patience last night while I was getting up to speed.)

    Hey Sirokk,

Im glad that you were able to come out and try STB out. I do like seeing how helpful people are with giving some loot from the runs to others especially if it's MK X phasers :)

Well I do LOVE Star Trek and like how I get to try and emulate some of that in the game gets me all giggly like! hhahahha!

I think the wait is ALWAYS worth it IMO. I'd like to thank everyone for being patient with me as Im not the fastest organizer :o

Look forward to flyn with ya again Captain Sirokk!

Based on experiences I have had with some people in this channel I think it is time to start forming PvP matches. The rules are very simple. No Boffs, no colsones of any kind and your gear is all white either default from the ship or stuff from your shipyards vender.

Given how this is working, we may be able to actually set up certain roles depending on who's flying what.

I know that I would be the Tank in Gal-X with the obnoxious amount of hull it has (still trying to figure out how I'm getting 63k+ hull). Will have to work on BOff abilities a little bit to really make it work.

Edit: Oh yeah, need an invite sent to @Shrilan if possible, please. Another one of my friends in RL that is interested in this.

Whenever Im in a team I do make an effort to balance the team out with my ships as I have escorts, cruisers & sci ships... plus it's super fun to use all my ships. That's a great idea talk amongst the team to see if it is required to balance it out. I know I would always want to have a sci ship, *ahem* NOVA!, on my team.

When I get in game I will send an invite :)

To share what characters and ships I can bring for the sake of searching for team balance...

My 3 Fed characters are VA, each are Sci, Tactical and Eng. My main, the best one I am at using is the Vulcan Eng. I have a Klingon that's a step or two from 50 and Level 8 Romulan.

    Tier V Ships:
    Cruisers: Ambassador, Galaxy-R, Excelsior
    Science: Nebula, Vesta-Sci (3-pack)
    Escorts: Prometheus(AE), Chimera, Mirror-Patrol Escort

I also have other non-Fed and lower-Tier Fed ships.

Most of my gear is Omega, MACO and Adapted MACO. Mix of energy types, MK XI Blue or better.

I spend most of my time with my Eng in a cruiser. It's the most satisfying being able to tank, deal some decent damage and heal teammates.

Had an amazing time guys, the synchronized warp outs and ins were really fun. And with everyone forming up on the Federation's Flagship cruiser at a end of each, so cool to see.

Had a bit of RPing going on, and it certainly felt like Trek.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to try out my Cheyenne refitted for torpedo support, but I hope everyone else had fun.

(Really felt like a serious task force, an Odyssey, a Soveriegn, two Defiants, and my little Cheyenne.)

I'm working on setting up a TS3 server for this (at least part of it). Once I have it set up, I'll send Trizeo the information to pass along to others.

Will only work for a maximum of 20 people to start.

Had yet another fun time Trekking with you all last night.

I can't hype this channel up enough. It's really just a lot of fun to throw off the shackles of the "serious" MMO player for a bit and just revel in doing Star Trek things with like minded players.

I'm a terrible RPer and even I try to get in on it a bit.

It was funny, last night I overshot the mark when leaving and then when warping out, my ship did a weird thing I'd never seen before on the leave map sequence. It elongated, went forward and then took a sharp 90 degree turn right as it streaked away.

Anyways, I also saw mention of ground missions. And was wondering if there'd be any protocols for those? Like my one guy has Mk X MACO set, with the phaser rifle. And a sword. But it'd be fun to go back, and re-equip phaser pistols or something. Still he's an engineer so he rarely goes anywhere without either turrets, turrets, turrets, drones, turrets, more turrets and a mortar. Or mines, mines, mines, eventually a mortar and more mines.

    And a sword.

I have one for my fleet I am bringing back online tonight if you want to use that instead. I just upgraded that server so it should be good to go. I just, literally, need to turn it all on.

    This was pretty fun.

I'm still suggesting we try the Dyson sphere contested zone/space battlezone. 2 teams of 2 should be able to split into 2 and hold all 4 points, then regroup on the dreadnoughts.

    Little?

Also, was a Vigilant refit, actually.

The Commander-level Defiant surprised me - it's a FAST little ship, especially compared to the Fleet Escort and the Fleet Patrol Escort.

    Hey guys,

I would totally be up for this and I thank you for doing this for the STB channel.

The ONLY thing I would see wrong and wrong is the not right term is people talking over each over and what not when doing the RPing part but I'm not opposed to trying it out thru comms... much easier to talk than type especially in the heat of a battle.

I just ask that you don't make fun of me when I trip over my words trying to be all Picard like! hahahah..

Thanks again guys for helping me out with STB!

Im glad your having fun as much as I am!

Feel free to let people know... the more people on the more chances of getting some good groups together.

TBH this has taken over any grind of mine... the only thing I really end up grinding is my daily Dill cap but playing STB style is just way fun right now.. not like I need to grind MK X weapons! hahaha!

I myself am new to the world of RP but I've been having fun with it especially when a whole team is doing it. You don't have to be good at it as long as your having fun... I won't judge and I hope I don't get judged.

That warp thing has happened to me plenty of times!

If we do end up doing ground stuff in STB the gear can be the best of the best I think. I'm not much for doing ground stuff but did enjoy the Dyson ground stuff when it first came out and I do the occasional colony or Defera stuff to change it up once in a while. I was thinking of the ground stuff actually being tied into some of the space stfs we do.. for example Khit ground & Khit space.... have a full mission thing you know?... just a thought

    Hey risingstar2009,

Totally agree with your setting up roles PRIOR to the mission starting, we can leave that to whomever formed the team.

I think I forgot to invite your friend, my apologies. Ill do that when I get on later tonight.

I'll be on later today to team up, can't wait to get started.

As for roles, I'm all for that. We could get some psuedo-structure going in some places, make ourselves a "real" battle group, so to say.

    Trust me... same here!

For the most part it seems MOST of us know what the STF is about. For example Khit, before the mission we call which side probes and there you go. Last night we did a pug wth the Indy, Defiance & California (Intriped, Defiant, Galaxy) and it was a pretty long battle. We did things like call the probes but more less let the RP factor take over. What I mean by that we destroyed the 1st gen and then I mentioned I would go to the 2nd one and when I knew the borg cube was coming up I asked for assistance... after the take down of that our fellow captain requested assistance with the probes then I was ordered to the other side to assist.

The roles, I think, should be defined by the TF captain and as more of us get our other ships going we can also get a feel of what the mission requires before hand. For example if I got into a team with all Galaxy's... well I would switch up to my Defiant or MVAE to give the escort punch.

This will all be a WIP but I think the essence of it is coming out and to my hopes it's what I wanted to gain out of it.... some good ol' Star Trek pew pewn fun!

I love seeing just how quickly this channel is growing/spreading, and that a light RP element has grown organically out of it.

Player roles in ships are more than likely going to happen not out of us demanding them or neccesitating them, but instead naturally out of the RP and need to the lower DPS. I feel like in our need to emulate what we have seen on the screen or read in books, we are this a Star Trek game that it could have, should have been.

Oh and just the general kindness of everyone has been astonishing. Everyone that I have had the pleasure of flying with has been far and away more helpful that I could have hoped. If there is anyone new to STO looking over this thread join this channel as I did. You owe it to yourself.

It has grown quite a bit hasn't it?

I do like how this has given me a reason to use ALL the ships I have at my disposal and with every ship comes a change in my role in the TF. I do agree that THIS is should've been how it was in the first place but that's why we have this channel so that we can make this how we want.

Agreed... Steve has kindly offered to set up TS for STB and everyone is welcomed to use it either to just say hi to your fellow captains or to use in the STB TF.

All is welcomed and if there are any questions please feel free to ask myself or others in channel. I am on EVERY night for a good portion so there's a good chance you'll be able to contact me.

One of my drop-dead favourite things about this channel is the level of seriousness exhibited by the teams.

That isn't to say that the team's I've been with haven't taken things seriously - just that they've never taken it TOO seriously.

Case in point: Played KASE yesterday with a team from this channel (pretty sure Triz was there) - a probe managed to slip past someone and got through. Now, I'm sure we've all experienced what often happens in PuGs when this occurs - insults, foul language, rage-quits - but there was none of that; we just shrugged and carried on.

I can't emphasise how much I enjoyed that.

And you know, I can't help but think it a shame we're all members of specific fleets; considering how well we work together and how often we team up, we'd make an AWESOME fleet in itself; STB Fleet has a certain ring to it in my opinion :)

    Hey hey Reyan01,

Had that happen to me a couple times in KASE and yeah it REALLY DOESN'T bother me at all when probes get through.... I mean what are we talking about a measley 15 "bonus marks"?

I would like to stress at this point that insults or abusiveness will NOT be tolerated. I mentioned in my first post but if there is a misunderstanding please work it out amongst yourselves and if you need to involve me I'll be willing to offer advice. Main STB chat is NOT to have any "drama" in it... STB is about having fun and we DO NOT need that in the group/channel.

TBH Reyan it is not the first time the word "fleet" has been mentioned to me. I think the group synergy we have is nothing short of AWESOME but here's my input on the matter.

The time and resources required to establish a fleet tremendous as we all know. I myself cannot/do not want to put what little time I have in filling doffs or grinding huge amounts of EC or Dill. I want to spend my time in what I enjoy in STO which is the space battles part. I don't know where everyone is in their level in STO but I myself am "maxed" out with the equipment I want. I do not require to get anymore rep or fleet gear as all my ships are fine the way there are and all of them are set up for STB which is enough to handle whatever STO can throw me. I would love to be apart of a fleet with my fellow STBers but I wouldn't be able to commit to that in all honesty which would NOT be fair. Am I against it no but I am just stating my thoughts on the matter.

Now if it's JUST to have a fleet with the name STB on it and it can be just treated as such then I see no problem in forming an all out STB fleet. I do have connections that would allow anyone tho to aquire fleet equipment so we do not need to worry about that with the exception of provisioning which means we would have to at least get some provisions.

Another thing is we have all made friends in our current fleets and well that would mean leaving the fleet to form an STB fleet and to me it seems that doesn't turn out so well when it comes to friendship.... I'd be willing to talk more about it in depth if it does come up again to those who have the same feeling.

Enough ranting from me for now... hahhaha!

Permission granted... now I got to figure out how to do that but really me replying to the comments on the thread is me promoting it as well and I don't really reply to other treads much.

I have no problems with your sales pitch... a suggestion would only be to have it say something along the lines of "NO HIGH DPS WANTED" or something like that... hahahaha!

If you linked to the first post for STB, it'd probably be easier than saying bring your Mk XI or lower gear. As it stands, only weapons are limited that way.

Though, I do know some of you went in with Whites on 3/10 when I was trying to help my friends out with setting up for the teams (I may have to split them up with others as they fall in to a regular pattern with me).

Hope to see you all tonight!

I have to admit I like this channel too. Very fun, laid back and people don't rage when I become a plasma sponge kill. Happened a few times with Reyan and Trizeo.

Just those times when you get focused by the Tactical cube of the gate and before you can hit 1 button you are zerg killed.

They actually felt bad about it, but I shrugged it off and help them win, no whining, no fussing no nothing. I like it! :D
