I noticed this too. I was making statues in my latest mission that would wear various uniforms from the shows. But I noticed that a tos commbadge wasn't there. So I substituted the command insignia one. But then I scrapped particular statue for other reasons. Also noticed that I have no idea what uniform Captain Va'Kel Shon wears in the game because I wanted to replicate that uniform as well but nothing looked like the pics of him on Stowiki or Memory Alpha. So that uniform got scrapped too. I don't know about you, but I think some uniform desires have gone away, but I could be wrong.

There is no TOS combadge cause they didn't use them back then, they had handheld communicators. They just had the three insignia for the different departments. What we have is the Enterprise version, since in that time period each ship and station had different symbols.
Doesn't Shon wear the VA jacket? I think in the foundry the closest is the Veteran jacket and the VA isn't there.
There do appear to be some odd holes in what costumes are provided. Like why, for instance, do they have the generic Romulan survivor costumes and lots of other LoR content but not so much as a cuff of the Romulan Republic uniforms?

Well yes, I mean insignia of course. And STO use the Enterprise version for all even though that isn't exactly correct (the Dronza crew for instance).
That could be regarding Shon's uniform. But then I decided that everyone I had in this series that wasn't Starfleet Intelligence or an admiral was wearing the Next Generation Film uniforms so this particular person would be as well. Added continuity to my series that way.

Interestingly, look at the uniform constancy in Shon's crew;
Sorry, I know the official timeline or something says that Starfleet loosens regulations on uniforms at some point or something like that, but I can't help but think each ship should be uniform when it comes to uniforms. Pun intended.
sure, maybe on STO, your friend wears TNG TV uniforms and your ship wears TOS uniforms, but at least have all of your officers wearing whatever style the captain is. I'm a stickler for always making my officers wear the same style I do. Sure I may not have a girlfriend, but it makes me feel better. Lol

It does somehow make a mockery of the word uniform. Maybe we should rename it pluriform? Or just "dress up"?
I like to think of it more like how each starship had a different patch in TOS. Each starship has a different uniform scheme denoting the ship they serve on. (At least that's the way I like to view it.)
Besides, customization is one of the major components of MMO. I love how Cryptic has given us so much to play with in this regard.
That said I do put each crew in one uniform, rather than mix and match within a ship
At the same time it is a uniform since they are all Starfleet uniforms not Kdf for example. There is the medical tos patch but no other. I am pretty sure the VA coat andthe veteran uniforms are both in the foundry.

Broadly what I do, but I like one or two having a distinct look (Troi/Picard Jacket, Kira/Odo, Nelix/Seven, T'Pol)
