I haven't really made it in game much the last day...I noticed on the blogs the Galaxy-X Saucer has Dual Cannons...now are they stand alone or does it have the forward and rear beam arrays like the Exploration Cruiser Sep?
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
It is supposed to have Beams, Dual Cannons, a minor lance and Photon torpedoes.
While the Dual Cannons are rarely observed to to the saucer's turnrate I have yet to hear anyone seing the Torpedoes or the lance at all - People might have just not said anything though.
Personally I have yet to see the dual cannons too, but others confirmed that the saucer does fire them.

Also if you have the refit console, I believe it also has the antimatter spread.
It's not myfault ifyoufeel trolledbymyDisco ball...Sorry'boutit.

i have seen mine fire the cannons it tends to do it at the same time as the mini lance. probably just because it was firing forward at the time
i have also seen it fire photon torpedoes
the mini lance actually does some decent damage saw it do 10,000 to a tac cube. wonder if it;s effected by your skills and consoles
It will usually fire the lance right after seperation, I'm not sure what the recharge on that ability is though. Against slow moving objects, like a cube, it's pretty nice - against fighters I have yet to see the lance hit.
Have yet to see the photon torps, I'll have to pay more attention to the pet and see if it fires.
Overall a decent upgrade on the saucer, doesn't make up for the missing ltcom tac seat but it plus the fleet's 4th tac console are making me happy.
I had trouble finding the saucer's cannon shots at first, though only because I was looking at the actual cannons mounted on the ship rather than where normal Dual Cannons fire from on the ring of the saucer.
The mini Lance is certainly fun to have, though I have yet to see any photon torpedoes from this pet.
Say, has anyone else noticed how the saucer will lock itself in orbit around a target, to the point where it's cannons are always facing towards it. Yes, that does mean it flying sideways around other ships.

I think only the battle drive section has the torp launchers. With all the new toys I don't miss the extra boff tac seating. The extra tac console slot on my Flt Gal X is nice.
The turn rate of the new galaxy with the two piece console is great too. Mix that with a Fleet Neutronium with Turn and a Fleet RCS consoles the GX turn rate is hugely improved and that's without the saucer sep.
On paper the GalX improvements look a little meh. In practice it's a huge improvement. However I'm a Galaxy fan anyway.
Monkey see, Monkey do. Monkey flings Feathered Monkey poo...
No offense good people, bit I just have to Bwahaha a little... Why am I not surprised to read about bugs in this fine old ship...
not really a bug it's just the cannons and lance are only forward facing so if the saucer is not facing forward it will not fire. same with the photon it's only rearward so if it;s back is not to the enemy it will not fire
After owning the galaxy-r since it came out the " update" is nice. It still doesn't have any teeth . As far as the saucer is concerned, it used to ha e forward firing torps day one up till recently and now .. eh . It used to fire heavy torp 2 ( since it shot 3 ).

I can confirm that the Saucer does Fire it Dual Cannons and Phaser Lance but I've yet to see it use Photons
The Saucer needs AI commands like Hangars have because most of the time its off doing its own thing and not helping me at all.
The Phaser Lance that's fired by the Saucer seems just has powerful has when the Lance is fired by me IMO.
Would have been nice if the carrier commands applied to the saucer, being that this is the first ship with a separation and a hanger.
But I suppose that would have been asking too much. Right along with that nonexistent Lt CMD tac boff slot.
I agree. Between a hanger and the pet, it might as well BE a carrier. I would fully support having the Saucer AI tied to the hanger pets commands. It would make more sense not only from playability, but also a logcial standpoint; the pets would most likely "escort" the saucer wherever it went and provide cover.
But asking for that would be asking for too much and make the ship overpowered, wouldn't it?

And that would make the most sense in my opinion.

So cool.

Yes it uses that has well
