I didn't see another thread like this for several pages so I hope no one minds me giving it a go!

Anyways, as much as I love Club 47, they really need to change up the music once in a while, and the ambient soundtrack is pretty but nothing I haven't heard before.

When I'm hopping through the cosmos on the Capreol, I like to pipe The Devin Townsend Project's "Ki" through the corridors. Something about the laid-back, loose, reverb-y nature of the record, which for non-fans can be best described as "folky metal and rock you could play in a coffee shop", makes it perfect for interstellar travel.

Off my ship, I'm willing to blast just about anything, but I've taken a particular liking to some old-school Yes vinyls lately.

    I've lately been listening to a variety of Soma FM's radio channels. Many of which are very appropriate for STO.

    I usually listen to music when I do STFs - music that fits the mood for the game play or battle. Examples are "Lay Down Your Arms" & "Free" by Asia, "Organic" from Unreal Tournament OST, Sky Troops from Shadow the Hedgehog game OST for the Voth Breach STF, just to name a few.

    For The Tour the universe mission, I prefer the theme from Stephen King's Dreamcatcher.

    Although the verse lyrics are pretty morbid (you can kinda tune them out since they're spoken), the refrain and the outtro from Pepper are ridiculously groovy for just cruising around system/sector space. Shut off the UI, put the camera in front of the ship so you're looking back at it and commence the diving and swooping! That reverb and whatever the plucked/hammered string instrument is are totally rad for cruising. Load up one of the Hirogen deep space encounters and fly around in the ribbon cloud up near the ceiling of the map; pretend you're flying with Wake Angels.

    Most of the time I'm not listening to any music though. If I feel the need I'll put on some electro-house or rock or metal for high energy combat. If I'm in a bad mood then the prescription is some Marilyn Manson and something with swarms of enemies (usually Starbase 24, Fleet Alert, Starbase Defense, or Gorn Minefield) that wither and die before my mighty beams (bonus: the music usually boosts my skill and I'm more likely to get 1st that way; I dunno maybe it helps me become one with the ship :P ).

    Or maybe some smooth lounge jazz or bagpipes or didgeridoos or gypsy fiddle jigs or jpop or sitars or classical orchestra or... yeah I listen to so many genres of music that Spotify has started trying to upsell me on ADHD medication.

    For me it's Hocico, VNV Nation, Suicide Commando, Project Pitchfork and Helium Vola. There's some misc stuff, but those are my standbys.
    My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

    Usually some liquid drum & bass (LSB, Netsky, and Bassdrive.com) to get me going. Nothing like going through Tour the Galaxy to a nice bass line.
