Is there anyway to get more than 3 rows on your toolbar? On most of my characters, their toolbars are full and I can't fit all the different abilities into them. Is there a way to set keybinds to your bridge officer's abilities that you don't have to have them in your toolbar as well? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You can have three vertical and three horizontal bars, all of which can be binded. I'm not very good at that process, so others will have to chime in on that. The vertical bars can be accessed by entering the "Rearrange HUD" menu, then clicking the "new" button on the horizontal bars. If there are more available, I am unaware of them. Hope this helps.

What Wetworth said pretty much covers it, I find that my Ability list is so great now I have to use a keybind on Space bar, and one on C (Space is bar 7 and C is bar 2) so that things like Tactical Team, Omega and stuff that I want nearly 100% uptime on can be hit quickly. Then the Bar 2 is my tac bar for APA, FoMM, GDC, Battery Etc. That way you can move your nearly always up abilities to Bar 7 and use a key for it (Doesn't have to be Spacebar) and then hide bar 7.

Side bars are useful but I found that I couldn't always get used to it so i would die before getting to the abilies located in them.

Thanks for the help, and I now got the 3 vertical bars which is helping a lot. But so far, I haven't been able to keybind any of the abilities in the vertical bars. Is there a way to do that?

In the game options, on the key binds tab, make sure you're either in space, or you change the dropdown to Space. Then you can set binds for the first 4 rows (the 3 horizontal and first vertical bar).

Unfortunately to bind anything past the 4th row you need to do it with commands in the chat.

For example, to bind row 5, slot 1 to Ctrl+Numpad 1:

    /bind Control+numpad1 UseTraySlot4 0

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: Like most things computer-related it measures from 0 instead of 1, so the above command says 'trayslot4' but it's really row 5. Same how it then says '0' even though it's really the first slot. (Also note that for the vertical bar it counts from the top slot to the bottom so the top slot is 0 and the bottom slot is 9)

OR, to save yourself some headache from doing it all by hand, you may want to install this program that can generate a keybind text file for you, which you can then drop into your STO folder and load in game with /bind_load_file ilovebacon.txt
