I'm building a Fleet Corsair and I was thinking about what to put in the Hangar, I was thinking either Slavers for the free items or maybe Interceptors to go with this drain build I have. I've used Slavers a few times but I would have to purchase the Dacoit for Interceptors.
I don't know if I've ever seen many if any use Interceptors, I was curious what kind of damage they do (Though DPS isn't my main concern) and if their drain beam is any good? (I know drains aren't very effective in STF's but I'm also keeping PvP in mind one day)
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
My buddy has the elite interceptors and won't shut up about them, he swears they're the best pet in game. He's also what I would consider an apex predator in kerrat, so they hold their own in pvp.
I'd say their stats are more desirable than anything that isn't a frigate, from either side.
As a Carrier Captain - I have had nothing but TRIBBLE results from my Fleet Corsair. I still kick myself for the wasted Fleet Creds. Much more viable to rock out a Vo'Quv (or my personal fave - the Mirror version). For PvP - I recommend NOT using a carrier at all. You will get gang-wrecked - ESPECIALLY with Interceptors. A level one FAW makes VERY short work of those as pets - Slavers too. Sad reality is even in PvE, Interceptors won't live long enough to level up. This amounts to uselessness.
Go big and go cheep. Mirror Vo'Quv is soooo affordable on the exchange its disgusting. Slow to turn, but an effective Beam Boat. Even loaded with Blue Quality BoPs it will punish.

Vo'quv space whale is hardly top predator for pvp. It's just a big nut that can't turn, can't run, can't tank and can't fight. Ppl use it for target practice. Being less lol than fleet corsair says little, the bar is set too low.
If you're going to fly carrier in pvp, get a fleet karfi. Far higher dps potential, spam potential, chained grav wells, high turn rate, room for multiple omegas. Elite fer'ja frig pets is second only to interceptors in speed, and have a tendency to follow up a rapid fire III dual ap volley with a heavy torp III tricobalt torp. Send all 4 towards someone in a strafe often results in a kill with minimal effort on your part. Bop pets don't come close in speed or spike dmg.
They get on top of ppl in pvp fast, keeps them pinned, and is hard to aoe down with csv. It's about projection and suppression, not dps.
For pve, they're garbage. Horrible dps. Borg cube don't care.

I think you missed the part where I said flying a carrier in ANY PvP is kind of a bad idea. You're the first target everyone wants to gang-wreck and they usually do. Interceptors are also garbage on PvP. LOL@keeping me pinned. Again, a level one FAW usually takes out an entire wing with ease.
BTW - if you can't Tank in a Mirror Vo'Quv as an ENG . . . you're doing it worse than wrong.
PS - are you trolling me about BoPs not coming close in speed or spike damage? Have you ever USED BoP pets? Sure they arent the fastest - but I'd like to see you try and fight my Mirror Vo'Quv with 4 Elite (or Advanced) BoPs torp-smacking you. One FAW to take out shields and annoying useless Interceptors . . . one 4 BoP torp-smacks and . . . done.

You're doing it wrong if you can't have your Carrier survive in PVP. Carriers are so well stacked in ENG & SCI abilities that there's no excuse to not be able to last. Only the Kar'Fi has issues to worry about, but played right and with proper power, you can make even the Kar'Fi hold up well under pressure. I've had mine tricked out even with the full 3 pieces of the Breen Set, held up in PVP. Not the same as a Vo'Quv or whatever, but held up well enough.
And the Interceptors? Effective in giving the enemy issues. What you will not get from Interceptors, to include even the Elite ones, are big damage numbers. What they WILL do for you are some debuffs and drains. Chroniton procs, Weapon/Engine Drains. They are also, easily, hands down the fastest hangar units in the game and will pursue opponents across the map very fast. This is convenient in getting units to the fight faster, ahead of you, and of course, chasing a player down to keep them in combat, which is quite important so that they can't do recoveries in a non-combat state. You can spawn them in large numbers. They are easily replaced. They are not dependent on targetable projectiles.
They are fast. They are unrelenting in peppering their effects.
And if you get the Elite Interceptors? You get Tractor Beam I on each of them. You can regularly get a half dozen, maybe up to 9 TB I's locking some poor sap down, and if not, force them to burn their escapes, because not even Evasive Maneuvers will pull them out of that. Locked down? Easy targets for your team, esp. if it's an Escort. They get away? That's fine. They may have expended their good escape abilities to do so, and you and your team have a window of opportunity.

I take it you've never used anything except vo'quv with bops? Yes, I've used bops, and frankly, heavy quantums don't come close to heavy tricobalt. They won't kill anyone on a run. Speed isn't close to fer'ja either.
And interceptors are some of the best pets for pvp. Like I said, the suppression and harassment value is massive.
Get all ships being discussed, use them, and get a clue before you make a fool out of yourself.
Really what you want to do is have both Elite Interceptors and Elite Slavers. A few others like Elite Scorpians and Armoured Maurading Shuttles and Armoured Shield Healing Shuttles can be of use.
Use the Slavers most of the time for PVE, switching to the others if you are in the mood for something different.
Now for pvp look at the type of ships you are attacking and choose the right pet for the situtuation. That's the beauty of carriers and carrier hybreds. Switching out a hangar is the easiest piece of equiptment to switch out on a ship without messing up your build giving you flexiblity.
After all no space sets have a hangar as part of the set.

Lol the Fleet Voquv isn't so bad, at least with an engineer captain to make up for only having Lt Cmdr eng on a high hull ship, a competent eng can zombie with it just like any other big ship.
I like it for draining and using as bait in kerrat, the drain build attacts a lot of attention from mad feds then the ship is strong enough to tank them while my cloaked team gets ready for the ambush.
I like interceptors and siphons for pve and slavers for pve on it.
I'm kind of a alt-o-hollic...I own ever t5 ship with hangar(s) on it except the Ar'Kif, so I already have a character in a fleet Vo'Quv and working on a Kar'fi as well. I admit I was a little hasty on my purchase of a Fleet Corsair and kinda wish I didn't do it but since I did I might as well fly it. :P
She isn't the greatest ship but she isn't horrible either. I kinda wish maybe her Ens was a Uni or least a Tac but other than that she is okay. I've got the Leech and the Assimilator so I could make a decent little drain build with it.

"Fleet" or Elite Orion Interceptors have 2x the hull points of similar fighter vessels. They have a tractor beam on each vessel. They're the go-to hangar vessel for PvP it seems. Can I say vessel some more?
Elite Slavers are appearing to be the DPS choice for PVE (despite the massive outcry from 6 months ago that they don't loot contraband as much to everyone's taste).
Elite Swarmers are the wild card for PvE damage, but no one ever posts their results.
However, you're talking about a Fleet Corsair in which there are some recent topics. It seems that for PvP, this particular Orion ship is the "stopper"; that's your role, with Gravity Well 1 and a wing of Orion Interceptors.
Super Drain builds are still within the canopy of the Kar'Fi, especially since the Fleet version has been released and I'm sure many will say it's "exclusive".
Kar'fi is my fav kdf ship ive been using it for a year n a half its got a lot going for it great pets com sci lt/com tac a consoles that makes u phase shift. Its a lot of fun n i recommend it to all kdf players
the fleet corsaire is a decent ship, can put out decent damage in pve and a great support in pvp, for pve i suggest you use plasma weapons and torps along with elite scorpions and embassy plasma consols.
pvp is a bit situationnal but if you're going tu pug, orion interceptors are great pets but dont forget to do your primary job which is support and controle,a drain build would work ok but not as good as fleet Kar'fi
So I was at my fleet's store looking at the elite hangar options, I wasn't aware slavers have a photon torp launcher and a quantum mine? Or is that a bug?
