Over the last few days, is it only me, or is there more of an input lag whilst pewing compared to past?
Yes I've noticed it more this weekend. Mouse clicking the power tray results in the icon "blinking" but not latching. Keyboard entry seems to be more reliable.
I'm switching between macros and a keybind, then I notice it. Whether I use the key or click the icon. Is that part of the design whereby you can only have so many abilities in que for activation I don't know. I've never actually recorded how many 'ladies in waiting' I had going.

No I havent noticed. Steady ping of 100~ms and 60+fps. Albeit having to run at lower graphic settings across the board.
UI latency/lag is directly bound to FPS (And ofcourse Internet latency, but assuming this is stable)
The more FPS, the less input lag. UI elements/data is recalculated by every and each frame, and this game is getting more and more of a resource hog.
Compare it with a few seasons ago, how much Buff/debuff icons have been added to the game? Ever checked your Team status and all the buffs running on each person? Its getting out of hand. Another few season and the whole screen is filled from left to right up until the borders with buff/debuff icons.
Hell, even our 3 row tray isnt enough anymore so now we have an additional 'vertical' bar which slows the FPS of your game even more.
But having as least as possible UI elements on screen will increase your FPS again a little. Too bad its not as configurable as I would have wished it seen.
Try hiding your UI with the standard button, FPS skyrockets. There are some tricks to disable a few UI extra elements to save FPS like completely removing all buff icons of Target of Target.
Then we have something that will definately increase your FPS (Assuming the fps isnt limited by GPU but by the UI itself) Removing the Team status:
/genjailremove teamstatus_root
Unfortunately, this is quite impractical for PvP matches as it will totally ruin any teamplay what so ever. A better solution for cryptic to keep things under control is to let us have a toggle to filter out specific buffs/debuffs in the team status. Like only showing team player's debuffs would help it alot in terms of FPS, thus UI lag.. I usually only care how my fellow players are debuffed not if they run Rapid fire or not. I dont care about all your passives either, maco stacks, plasmonic stacks, veteran bonus sh*t. what not. So why are we forced to show either everything, or remove it all? why no middle ground?
Its also quite pathetic that team buff/debuff icons of your fellow players cant even be scaled up, they are barely readable now, unless you want to play around with a UI scale of 2.00, which is just TRIBBLE because that makes EVERYthing too big to be practical.
(These commands need to be bound to your movement keys or mouse in order to keep them this way)
IT has been bad after the most recent patch. I have run into clicking the power watching grey out and then comeback seconds later right after my pass on the target and saying OMFGWATHAPPNTOMYZBOL, oh look its back up
Hey I Used to be Captain Data, well I guess I still am in game but the account link really screwed everything up
Since the last patch, as mentioned - yeah...been a bunch of "Hey, I know I hit that - take that! Er...take that! Take that! Take that? Oh 'eff it..." and it lets me hit the respawn fine. Whether in Ker'rat or tooling around in PvE...it's been the same PITA.

I can relate. I actually had my alpha strike wear off before I could trigger all my powers. 6-8 clicks on power to make sure it triggered sure sucks. Eventually said eff it and treated it like a game dabo.

I've found a variety of things impact response time. I'm a point an click player who doesn't use macros (w/this exception of spacebar for energy weapons) for some play style background.
1. You can't activate weapons (hit spacebar) and click an icon at the same time and have them both take effect. They've got to be staggered. This includes basic things like switching power presets and distributing shields.
2. I wouldn't call it an activation timer as much as a recognition delay from when an ability is clicked until you can click another and have it be recognized. This isn't the same match to match and seems impacted by networking issues, such as jitter, jitter of jitter between the players, other issues that may even be exploits.
3. The client seems to process incoming damage/effects in such a way that things can be processed nearly all at once client side preventing UI clicks from being recognized until it's finished. I find this is more frequent w/damage types that are applied instantly (Beams) than those that have a travel time. I'm not sure if turning off logging would help w/this or not (it did in the old Jem BFI Doff bug days).
4. The rate of movement and overall latency are not w/in the game's TRIBBLE of error for a lack of better characterization. In other words, when a fast moving ship flies in front of a relatively slower ship that can't keep it's target w/in the arc for at least the recognition delay, the "click" may register no effect ,or worse acknowledge the click, but take no effect (ie it goes on cooldown w/o effecting the target).
5. There are some graphics that will result in lag if I don't change my view to look away from the graphics. (Though bare bones settings take away most of this).

There have been a few times in the past weeks that I thought I used a boff power and nothing happened.
I wonder if this may be related to the other UI issue we have recently where your power cooldowns don't display correctly, it looks like you have 2 seconds left then the cooldown goes back up to around 8 seconds.

On my A2B escort with one copy of A2B when the doff effect wears off the CD do bump up a little. I know when I left last summer there was an issue where powers would trigger but the power button would reset.

This way your getting the whole teamwindow at the left bigger, but there still is no way to only get the buffs/debuffs bigger separately from the ship-/shieldicons ! But helps a little !
been having same issue, weapon sounds are also messed up they make sound if i start pressing space bar even that im not shooting at anything, activation when cliking only like on 6 or 7 attempt by keyboard on 2 or 3 attempt

I was aware of that one too. I just didnt post it because it made no sense as it doesn't do what we want. and increasing the whole teamstatus root makes things a total mess lol. Way too big.
I've noticed it too. Thinking about putting together a macro to track my mouse location as relating to my power tray, and intercepting/replacing mouse click over a power with the keyboard combo to activate that power- at least if it continues to be crappy.
I noticed recently my BO kept making the overload sound but doesnt want to go off, or after like 5 times of making that annoying sound. Yet my ping was stable. Is this related?
Glad I'm not the only one who's noticed this. UI lag in ground has always been terrible, but I've noticed since the last 2 patches that space is getting bad as well. Powers either not activating in time or not at all...feels like I'm fighting with the UI more than anything else.
UI lag is OP. Nerf please. :P

this game optimization is horrible. I recall made a post when romulans season launched, the performance drop was too big, almost a year after still no reply from the devs (even with the post having several pages)
Playing my healer has been a nightmare the last couple of days. I thought it was just me, but when i click an ability i expect it to do what i told it to do, like ACTUALLY FIRE AND HEAL MY TEAMMATE WHOS ABOUT TO DIE WITHOUT THAT HEAL.
And....respawn for my teammate, its stupid.

Actually what even more annoying is when you click an ability and it either doesn't activate or puts itself on cool down without activating.
It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.

Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.

Theres a way to get the team-window bigger. Try:
"GenSetEarlyOverrideFloat Teamstatus_Spacelayout Scale 1.75$$"
(1.75 only example)
