I understand they want to "slow the grind" after getting bonus marks daily they honestly expect us to keep grinding for less? waiting months for a mark event is really stupid half the time i queue up now there are not enough people in the queue to start anything other then azura nebula which is like nails on a chalkboard now cryptic just took the last reason for many of us to log in away
make the game less fun great vision Steve
waiting for the cryptic defense force to show up now
So, the only reason you logged in was to get a few extra marks?
yes after getting the gear i want on all toons what else is there besides rep? they should have never given us bonus marks in the first place because a lot of us were used to getting extra marks and its hard to make less marks now while grinding the same missions hundreds of times

If people would look at other things besides the rep grind, they would find more.
Don't count on it. Apparently waiting months for a single rep to finish isn't waiting long enough.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
While I enjoyed the increased dill reward weekend, I miss everything else. Especially the Mirror Universe Incursion. Sure the grind is less with sponsorship, but i miss my extra xp.
Cryptic likes to destroy things that worked just fine. That's why they removed Elachi Alert and killed the Dyson Space Zone by removing rewards. With the removal of hourly mark events the queueable fleet action have been reduced to Borg STFs, CE, Gorn Minefield, NWS and Starbase Defense. Everything else is pretty much dead.
Removing the hourlies was a mistake, I think. The beauty of that system was, that you didn't have to wait (and schedule) for that one specific weekend. but that you could grab a quick mission when you had time.

yes it was a mistake how they thought this would "help" the game by making us grind even more is a mystery in fact it had the opposite effect on many players who wont grind marks at all now until the event
Well, I might be mistaken, but it seems the OP is talking quite specifically about Romulan marks.
If that is true I'd like to say that collecting Rom marks is and was annoying and tedious, even with the bonus marks event.
So the rewards here are horrible and completely not in line with things like the Dyson battlezone, in the first place.
The bonus marks event just makes it a bit less annoying.
All other reputation systems are a lot less problematic. Maybe Nukara ground suffered, too, since the event had a sizeable impact on rewards there.
But back to the Romulan marks and reputation. Epohh tagging is fine. Tau Dewa sector patrol is fine. Apart from that I consider everything else not worth my time. So collecting a bunch of marks in one go (aka grinding) is not really viable.
This is mainly due to the fact that the rewards on New Romulus are a joke. Compare it to some proper Dyson battlezone V-Rex tagging and you see something like 1/5th to 1/10th the marks minus the Dilithium.
In short:
- Gathering New Romulus reputation marks is the horror
- Rewards on New Romulus should be increased considerably (somewhere around x3, maybe with some Dilithium added)
- Azura and Vault should also yield a bit more marks
Yeah well... This whole issue is kind if typically for cryptic. Instead if addressing the real problems connected to grinding they try to work arround it.
Problem is: it's not to much grind in the game... As long as you just play one character.
It's far to much grind if you have multiple. And the sponsorship token might ease that but it doesnt resolve the issue at all.
Since it seems the majority of the player base basically just plays one, the "grind" is balanced towards those. And for them the Dyson zone is far to easy, and the general rep progress may be a little to fast in general.
I really didn't care for the hourly events. Whatever I wanted to do many times was either before or after I was online. However, the hourly events were better than nothing and it seems they pulled them before there was anything ready to put in their place. Something works better than nothing in this case.
I wouldn't mind there being some kind of daily events, but what kind of things could they do for daily events. Weekend events are kind of odd in that they are every other weekend and for 4 days. Why not have a weekend event be 2 days and every weekend.
1, the hourly events got people to gather for specific things on a routine and frequent basis. I could cue for and start some stf's within 30 seconds. now it's likely 3 minutes of having to watch the screen so I can click engage on the box that always sets itself to center screen to hide behind other windows.
2, Azure Nebula should be able to generate enough marks on one run without the bonus running to be able to do the daily rep mission. as it is, it returns 24~ marks (was 30~ with bonus), which quickly got to the point of needing something more just to complete a basic rep mission.
They are leaving blank weekends to see what happens and where to go next with the game. Weekend events will last how long? What is annoying is they said weekend events and they aren't every weekend. I don't have a problem with dilthm or marks being once a month.. they can add other events in. Are the events every other weekend? I haven't seen any post from a dev say that, just going by what is on the calendar.
The least they could do is update the old daily part at the bottom of the journal and say the next event is... rather than "This weekends event is coming soon...." for the past two weeks. I can see it on the calendar yet so many people in zone ask when the next FE mission/event starts.

I'll give you a big one to do after all the rep grind.
Foundry.
if there was a reason to do them i would how about attaching a mark box to foundry missions
And story mission replays...
On topic: isn't the mark event next weekend?
yeah its next weekend at this rate it will be 2 times per season i assume the next one will be in spring
