Can you use a PS3 controller with STO?

Guys, i was wondering, is it possible to easily set up and use a ps3 controller with STO? If so, how?

    Iv tired, didn't like it, I couldn't get all the controls to work right or work at all.
    The only good thing about it was for the movement of your character.
    And using the abilities was really hard to use too.
    Idk, you can try it out, you might like the way it works.

    I also used a certain program that helps Ps3 and Xbox controls work with computers.
    Sorry tho, I forgot what that program was called.

    *points at link in sig* I managed to get a Logitech joystick to work. Soo... maybe?

    the trick is figuring out how to manually map things to the buttons.

    Never tried it with STO, but the program I used when I played FFXI/FFXIV was this one:

    Eventually though I got fed up with having to go through a 3rd party program and dumped it. Bit the bullet and go a 360 controller just for my PC. Up to you though if you want to try to mess with it.

    I did detailed instructions for the process I used to get my joystick to work. Again... the link is in my sig. I don't know if the process is that same but it's probably at least similar.
