With the games on Earth? I'm all for Cryptic doing things to give us Qmendations, however when I log on during the day to do the games to find people running around, making the mini-Q's start the box game and then run off, it irritates me. It makes my 5 to 10 minute run turn into 30 because I have to find a Q that isn't clicked and beat someone to it before they click it and run off.

Can Cryptic maybe set something so that a Q can only be activated by one person at a time? That'd be great, and it'd make it possible to get the quest done without people spamming the little Q's to run the boxes so they can just do the runners.

Thanks again,
Prax

Tip. try switching to a low population instance. there are usually a couple.

yes they probably should change it as its getting a bit out of hand.

yep. I have to say the anniversary event is total rubbish. guess what box Q is in is not fun, it's just awful. also to make things worse you have people that start the box game and run off. making an awful idea even worse. /faceinpalm

    ok rant over

We should be rooted when doing the present one too, only for it, the entire duration.

And a lot of us are annoyed by this stupid event. Also, it seems a vast majority of player hate the box so much, they rather skip them.

But that's right, keep a system nobody likes, and make sure people is forced to do it, you know, for fun ! Instead of changing the minigame to have the majority of players enjoying it.

    1. Change instance to a low population one.
    2. Activate ALL the Qs!
    3. ????
    4. Profit like a Ferengi!

In all seriousness though, when people run off after activating a Q it doesn't always mean they are just ditching it. Sometimes people like to run multiples at once to get it done faster. I myself go to low pop instances and do 3 at a time if I can to get it done faster. If I'm lucky, I get 5 box Qs close together and can get them all done in the time it takes someone to run around looking for just a couple of the runners.

As an extra little tip, here are some easy ways to tell which box the Q is in. If you crouch and rotate the camera so it passes through the box, you can see Q standing inside of it. You can also press B to enter aim mode and point at the boxes. When you move the crosshair over the real one, the reticule will change and light up.

That's right, so instead, let's make it so that the mini qs are being used forcing other players to go to low pop instances because other players are too selfish. Seriously, the mini q game takes 32 secs and you don't have to even pay attention, just go to shooter mode and let your targeting reticle light up to where the mini q is. If you are too lazy for this game, what's for the next event? Press the console? I bet players would even say that takes too long and find ways to TRIBBLE the other players over.

No one is forcing you to play the game. Don't like the game, use your energy credits, buy keys, open lock boxes, use Lobi to get Qmendations.

    5 Lobi = Random 10 - 20 amount.

There is an alternative to ruining the event for everyone else.

I wonder what the Devs think of all the different ways to cheat the mini game. I have found 3 different cheats and a way to avoid going to Q personally to pick up and turn in the quest just because I hate the social areas so much.

GMAFB. it takes 35 seconds to complete a box. most of these idiots and yes i consider them idiots, spend far more time looking for a runaway (and yes that IS what they are doing) that they could have finished the box, maybe two, and not have annoyed the rest of us. to leave the minigame because you don't like it is childish and selfish.. really nice traits considering what game we are playing

I believe you are mistaken, as you seem to have highlighted a part of the quote which doesn't mention the present runners at all...

While the poster got the reasoning behind the quote wrong, the poster is correct when you beam down to Starfleet Academy and find four to five boxes going at the same time with no players around.

I will tell you all a little secret, if you can click/target a mini Q than it will be the running game. If you can't than its the presents game. Now all stop complaining and do both since you don't have to hurry lol

Can't seem to get the targeting reticule trick to work. Did they fix it with today's patch?

Sometimes I'll do two Q's at once.

I really hate this mini-game and wished they would come up with something else. I'd rather that you get the points playing other missions. Like the reworked ones for example. If you could play a different mission each day and get the points you need it wouldn't seem like a grind.

There are ways to get people to play the game and not make it feel repetitive.

The only person TRIBBLE you over is you. You have an alternative to move into a low population zone to press as many mini Qs as you like. I do this myself and it's no hassle whatsoever. Stop crying about it and just deal with the fact there are others in the game who don't want to play the same way you do.

So, you are saying that you are so lazy, that 35 seconds is too long for you. Also, in low population instances, that is where I found the most mini-q runners. After reading your excuses to TRIBBLE over other players due to your seflishness, good thing that this MMO is more single player oriented, because I would hate to run any missions with players of your kind of attitude.

This for me is the bottom line. The rest I'm choosing to ignore.

I don't really find the mini-game to be so annoying. It's actually moderately amusing reading the insults that the mini-Qs have to say about Q, and the exclamations of dismay when you catch them.

What pisses me off is that they're forcing players that want the anniversary ship to do that bloody game in the first place. And what annoys me even more is that bran said "when you see the stats you will see why this ship is worth a little more effort". I saw the stats. And I still don't see why this ship is ANY different from the previous anniversary ships, or why it's worth a little more effort.

It can change forms from an acceptable science ship to a sub-par escort. Whippy doo. It's still a just 9 console hybrid ship. I think the absolute BEST part (sarcasm is free ladies and gents) is that they will then introduce a 3 pack. For each faction. Separately. So. If you want the optimal destroyer on ALL 3 FACTIONS you then need to pay 15k zen. Money grab anyone?
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

I would recommend for the presents when it stops, hit b and q is the one with the gear symbol, and if press b over q before starting it, you will see if it is a runner or present game.

You don't need the c-store versions to have a good ship it is how you play and what you want to do with it. PERIOD!!!! end of story, yes c-store is nice but i can make a free ship do more then a c-store ship can do.
