No longer receiving any exchange mail

I no longer seem to be receiving mail from the exchange, for expired items OR for successful sales (to clarify, I know stuff IS selling/expiring by checking the exchange and my EC asset amount). I've received no warning messages about mailbox capacity or anything (although it was my understanding that there's no limit on the amount of mail you can get from the exchange anyway, ref: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=795091 ).

I'm interested in knowing if anyone else has this issue. I couldn't find any threads on this. My interest is that, if I'm the minority here, I may never see this issue resolved for myself, which would be somewhat depressing.

So yeah, is anyone else having this issue?

That's a stupid question, I know, but sometimes, we can forget the simple things: Did you check on the correct character?

Always worth asking the stupid questions, just in case. But yes, I checked with the correct character. :P

Actually, there is an implied limit on the number of returned Item Exchange messages, which is 40 per character, as you can't have more returned Items then your Exchange posting limit. As long as the returned Exchange Item remains unclaimed, it counts against your Exchange cap. With 40 returned Exchange items, you Exchange capacity is capped, and you can't post any more Exchange postings...

I'm aware of this, this is why I can't currently put up to 40 on the exchange, because I must have unclaimed ones in my mail. Unfortunately I don't have the mail messages with these items. In addition, I haven't been receiving confirmation of successful sales, yet my ECs did go up by themselves, and I can add new stuff on sale. I should have the mail for those sales, and the items that expired, but I do not.

I've not been putting any other stuff on sale though lest I 'lose' it completely if the sale expires. :S

Is your mailbox full? As I understand it, the "mailbox full" error goes to the sender of the message, not the recipient. If your sales slots are being reduced, that suggests the return mails still exist somewhere. If they were deleted, you'd get the slots back. Have you tried cleaning up old mails to see if new ones show up?

Exchange mails aren't supposed to count for the limits. But even if that's working as intended, it doesn't necessarily mean they won't still be blocked if the mailbox is full of stuff that does count.

Can you receive mail from other sources? Have you tried mailing yourself or asking a friend to mail you?

There is also a limit of 400 (I believe that is the correct number) emails different than the item limit. Could you have exceeded that value? As I recall it only shows you the oldest emails.

I thought they had changed it to 100 per toon.

100 items, but there is also a limit to the number of emails shown. The item limit stops more items from arriving, these still exist, you just can't see the new ones.

This looks like it may be what has happened. My character has exactly 300 mails that I can access. The visual limit must be 300 then. I can't find this documented anywhere though. I guess I'll have to delete some then, although I did like having a record of everything I've ever sold.

EDIT: Yes, deleting some of these messages (I've found some 'exchange sale expired' ones I can remove) is causing the new ones to appear at the top.

Mailing system is faulty yet again.
Mail indicator is stuck on despite there being no mail to read.

    I may have a workaround:
I got this problem again when I deleted a "item sold at the exchange" message without it being considered read (going from orange-colored font to white-colored) and I fixed it by sending a message to myself, reading it, making sure it was considered read (once again, going from orange-colored to white-colored) by clicking on another message, and then back to this one.

So, it's worth a try. That's still annoying the messages aren't considered read when they're automatically selected and not properly clicked on.

I'm sure this has been posted many times but I'm posting it again anyway because it needs to be fixed.

Cryptic, PLEASE fix the bug that is causing the exchange search results to disappear after making a purchase. This is EXTREMELY annoying when buying multiples of the same thing, such as common doffs. It is made even worse by the "spamming" limit placed on the search button. And while I'm on the subject of exchange annoyances please allow filtering of doffs by faction (ie. KDF, FED, ROM). I wanted to buy some fed colonists this morning but I couldn't because there were none to buy (according to the search results anyway). I'm sure there were some available but since there were enough cheaper KDF colonists for sale every page sorted by lowest price was all KDF, not a single FED. Sorting doffs on the exchange by faction is something that should have been in place since day one, PLEASE FIX THE EXCHANGE.

    LOl, good luck.

This is another of those really easy to fix bugs that for really unknown reasons, is still non fixed. I dont even know why people keep wasting time and efforts writting here in the forums. We all know how cryptic works.

On the bottom of the search screen you can filter out doffs you can't use. However I am not sure how that affects the number of records pulled.

He's talking about how you buy something, like a common doff, and then have to click search again, then buy a doff, then click search again, until you get timed out and have to wait 15 seconds to click search again. Yeah, it's a really stupid bug that I would think wouldn't be too hard to fix. Then again I would think having ship animations broken since October is bad too, but just business as usual.

Cool, thanks for posting this, that helps with part of the problem then.
