Does anyone else get really bored with the Anniversary Reputation dailies? I hated looking for Q in boxes last year so I only did it the one time, now I have to log in and do it to get a ship I won't even use just for it's warp core. It seems especially odd that we have to do this boring grind when C-store variants of the Dyson ships are coming in a three-pack.

Normally I don't have issue with the reputation system, it keeps people playing and it's fun to run through the PvE stuff with your fleet mates or other friends. I play semi-casual though I log in once a day usually. I did the winter events and found it fun, the races were at least interesting. This really isn't. Go find Q in a box, or if you're really lucky, go and chase after him for a couple of seconds.

I wouldn't really mind doing this but at least make it fun! Flying around Risa is really fun. The Christmas footrace, as I mentioned, is fun. The Q stuff is so dull and mind-numbing I find I am skipping days. I luckily had 30 odd lobi, so I happily earned 100 qmendations from that so whereas I thought "I'm sad I won't do this till next year" upon completing the Risa Summer Event, this time the only thought I had is "I'm so happy I'll finish quicker". I'm certainly not bothering with this on my Romulan or my Klingon. My Romulan is working up the Rom Rep tree in a kitted out Scimitar. My Klingon will be in the Bortasqu as soon as I can afford it. I'm only doing it in my Fed as I'd like the full solanae set for my Vesta. Thats it. Nothing else really appeals to me and whilst yes I accept if I "Don't want it, don't play it" it's not something especially as a lifetime subscriber I ever felt I'd have to face myself.

I am an advocate for this game. I love Star Trek and thats why I feel that the fourth anniversary should've been something more than it is. I'm not angry nor am I going to complain about Cryptic, I'm more just disappointed.

Anyone else?

Nothing about the dyson ships appeal to me. Stats are bad, seating is bad, space set is inferior (you'd be so much better off with rep and fleet gear). All for a gimmick that is also generally terrible. I've seen and fought these ships in pvp, they crumple faster than any other ship I could fight. I guess some players are impressed by it, which just goes to show there's no accounting for taste.

Because of all this, I don't do any of this particular grind and have set other goals for what is a worthless event to me. And yes, finding little Qs in boxes is just plain annoying. Maybe if I was a cadet I'd waste my time with such things, but I'm the "nemesis of the collective" and a UFP medal of honor recipient. I take the Sisko approach and just punch Q in the face when I see him.

*I hope a lot of people buy the cstore pack, I won't, but someone has to pay for the game.

I'm doing the Daily on just one of my alts for the Dyson ship (Eng who flies Sci ships). I don't know if the Dyson ship will be any good or not, but I wanted to at least give it a shot (I still fly my Anniversary Odyssey on one of my other alts--very nice ship--and free!).

On the other hand, I REALLY like the Dyson 3 piece ship set you get from running the Tuvok mission. Those items are great, and I have them on 3 of my alts so far. They're not as good as the MACO set, of course, but they're better than my Breen set, which i also like using.

I just noticed this got moved from the Reputation feedback page. Why? I'm talking about the anniversary Reputation grind, not the episodes which are quite fun in my opinion.

I'm going to buy some lock boxes and just use the extra Lobi to end this misery. I suspect if its another grind next year people will flip. I haven't heard anyone say they actually enjoy the anniversary grind. I understand the ship is free and I'm all for that, but this grind just feel tiring. As I said in my OP I just wish the daily event was something fun. Not finding Q in a box or chasing him for a couple of seconds.

Though i will be glad when i am finished with the grind in 2-3 days i admit that the anniversary was a good excuse to spend some time on my Klingon and romulan characters.

If i like their ships, perhaps i'll use them more often.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Think of it this way": IT'S A GRIND. It isn't supposed to be fun.

    Keeps me sane, anyway.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

Eh, I didn't even bother this time. This is the first time I haven't bothered with a grind. Too soon after that winter event and all its absolute tedium compared to CCE or the Summer event, and the ships all seem to be functionally identical to the Elachi Escort to me.

My intention is to get the ships for 5 of my 18 characters, but I might get none. I play almost everyday but I cannot get that interested to do the Q patrol mission.

    Reasons.
Too short after the winter event. I did wanted the Breen raider for 15 characters and I got them all, but this has weared me out.

The ships are mainly interesting for science characters. I see no point in doing it for my tacs and engineers.

I have quite a nice set of ships. I can do without.

The ships do not fit in very well with the personality of most of my characters. I like to see them as captains of small fast and nimble recon type ships. They are just not that important to get the latest and the best and that is where I would categoryze these ships.

Its less than 5 minutes per character, you have done for more for far less. You should be almost done now, I only have two days left on two of my alts, and i am finished with all four of them....

The moment I saw how ugly the FED Dyson destroyer is, I stopped to do these missions. Just when I started to think they can make nice looking ships after all, they give us this.
And yes, the Q hiding in the box is really lame. Especialy when you do it and all NPC and players are running through it.
