Stacking Blues

One thing I really have to ask for right now is the ability, when withdrawing/depositing to and from a bank particularly a fleet bank, to be able to specify how much of the stack I am either withdrawing or depositing.

Withdraw limits on fleet banks are a common countermeasure to prevent "WHOOOSTEALITALL" bank raids by newcomer-goer leeches. But if a stack exceeds your withdraw limit, the item in the stack is essentially locked in place. This leads into another problem.
The only way you can move individual items in a stack anywhere in this game is to discard single items, then move the remainder of the stack to a different slot somewhere else, then reclaim them from the replicator, which I must point out cannot be done with zero-value items like Lockboxes, data samples and particle traces, making any attempt for a fleet to move particles for any reason utterly futile.

This is a very basic thing I am asking for. This kind of thing is taken for granted in many smaller games out there, which makes it all the more bewildering to not find it in STO.

Please, implement some way to split a stack into smaller portions when moving from inventory to inventory. I don't want to have to shuffle around hundreds of units of resource X just to help a player who only needs 3 units of the bloody stuff.

If you push ctrl while you're moving stacks it will give you the option to specify how many you want.

Where the hell does it let you know you can do that?

...Amendment: Make this splitting mechanic part of the RIGHT-CLICK dropdown menu in an inventory. This would greatly streamline things and make inventory management less tedious.
Plus, considering that from the sound of things, nobody else can readily find it, even if it is in the damn manual, technically, something's wrong.
