Sci + Efficient Swarmer Exterminator Accolade

I'm struggling to get the efficient swarmer accolade as a Science Officer, minor spoiler I guess, after you leave the ev suits and if the right door opens after killing the swarmer, then you have a chance of getting this accolade.
You have to get cooper to open the door in less than 60 secs, which means killing the swarmers as quickly as possible. Tacticals seem to have no problem, Engineers seem to summon turrets and get in almost as easily.
As for my setup, I've got a protonic polaron full auto rifle, using integrated targeting armour and gambling device for maximum crit chance.
Using Disassembler and Field Researcher traits to increase damage by 35% when Sensor Scan is activated, and have extended the duration and debuff with Biologist and Biochemists.
I activate deka tea loaves beforehand for another 10% damage, and power cells before I think the next swarm arrives, gonna try conduit trait too next time.
So say the right door has a 50% chance of opening, and then for each of the 3 swarms, maybe there's a 50% chance of each being the tougher shielded swarmers, is the only way to get 3 swarms of the weaker swarmers, as well as the above setup? 6.25% chance in theory.

Which kit are you using btw?
Also i would suggest throwing a split beam rifle into the mix, tuvok has a full auto and overwatch (great exposing) while using a split beam you can quite easily blow a few swarmers that got exposed
As for kit honestly a physisist kit works wonders,
But if i had to guesss it might be you console activting that holds your time back? e.g. as soon as you see the console walk over while still shooting etc

I checked the proc a few days ago and it was working, now it seems after many criticals no proton damage at all even on Voth.
I have tried Physicist, fireball does reasonable damage but then is on cooldown for the rest of the 60 seconds, and I'm not sure radiation is worth the time it takes to activate over firing.
the other option is tackyon, although they are often out of range. I think my only option is to keep retrying till i get all 3 weaker swarms.
EDIT: seems proton particle burn works on non-Voth, so Anti-Voth weaponry is better against any other species
EDIT2: seems it does work on Voth, but from what I've seen it's not a 25% of all criticals maybe 5%, but for some reason does phaser damage now and then.
