yes I know this is about two months too early but I really wanna start speculation and hopefully get through to the devs to give us something different than the same freaking Pheonix pet again!!!.

If one was to extrapolate the official statements, the reason they slapped a 15 day grind on the Anniversary ship is because of the two "fourth pieces" of the 4 piece sets - secondary deflector(?) and warp core for the 3 pieces of mission rewards...
Therefore, if the First Contact Day reward was to include some sort of set piece or something of major import, then we might get a grind to go with it. If it's just the pet, then we should get it for the simple mission/visit...

Well...still actually 15 days, obfuscated by "giving" us 5 days worth for doing what used to be the "run mission, claim Phoenix pet" mission because, y'know, they're soooooo generous.

What we will get this year? Well so far, we've lost BranFlakes to a degree and gained Trevor, which is amazing. I'd place a Dev's backside we are getting more missions, no more free items and mooooaaaar godforsaken Tribbles for beta testing on Tribble and ohhh probably moar lockboxes?
