Note: In addition the canonical ?rusted? look, they also have access to 2 additional material options: a ?clean? look and one modeled after the ground armor you?ll read about below.

Discussion! Personally I kind of like the ships, more than the voth ships at the very least. I just can't decide which of the 2 I like more.

My only concern is that some of this stuff might be OP. Especially to shift more keys in the beginning. They usually nerf it a bit later.

I couldn't care about ground traits, though that confusion chance to torpedos does seem quite strong.

I'm also interested in what the other ship materials look like.

Personally i think it is mediocre at best.
I've seen people comment about the 12km shots and stealthy behavior, but neither is really useful. 12Km range only comes into play in PVP and anyone who has played PVP knows how difficult it is to stay in range while the weapons charges its shot.

Stealthy behavior is not bonus whatsoever since stealth is already the new standard in pvp.

Overall the only real reason i see for getting the box is the Hirogen armor (stealth detection) and if you happen to fancy how the hirogen vessels look.

Best to stay far away from the content of this box as far as i am concerned.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    It's all very PvP centric. That is troubling for two reasons;

1.) For the most part, they're effectively dumping on the majority of players (i.e. the players who PvE rather than/more than PvP) in order to promote these PvP centric items.

    and;

2.) It's very likely that these things are going to further unbalance an already badly unbalanced PvP experience.
You're just a machine. And machines can be broken.

not to mention... its ONE WEAPON, its not like it lets the Entire ship fire at that range... you really think one weapon slot firing earlier than the rest of your weapons will be that much of a gamechanger?

other than the innate stealth bonus (which will still be useful against those 20km borg lances if they can't target you), its not all that pvp centric and that stealth bonus is a freebie anyways, not taking up a console slot or anything

It's interesting, i don't care for the ship aesthetics, the consoles are interesting, and the traits are interesting. The other lockbox stuff is on par, depends on if you like that or not. I like the boxes, i like the randomness, but that for the most part you get something useful, even if its just something to sell on the auction house.

The 'sets' are fine too, it makes it interesting, take the set and do less damage output(maybe), but have unique effects that may compensate for that. It's the difference between flat damage and Critical Hit damage(sorta in comparison).

User preference. and allows for customization, nothing wrong with any of the approaches, just makes you more unique. (i'm assuming the damage or trade offs are worth it, not sure)

nothing of this can convince me.
escorts don't need that turn around stuff, they already so nimble that can turn on a dime. cruisers don't need it either due to broadside.
12 km isn't an advantage, one weapon even with strong attack is nothing.
mines and traits for them won't make mines more useful. one faw or scatter and they are gone for good.
signature masking in a game with battle cloaks is just laughable.
    booby-trap console is a gimmick.
ground set toggle is nearly the same as of shattering harmonics side effect and i bet it will have short duration and a looong cooldown. at least armor looks nice.

I dunno, I kind of like it. Sweet rewards, and the content indicates that a PVP revamp might be coming. I'll definitely check it out.

The only thing i may pick up from the exchange is the armor and that is because my klingon tac already uses the Hirogen rifle

I also just realized they haven't shown the hirogen ship bridge interiors.

Now I am even more intrigued.

I'm glad that tetryons are getting some love.

So as I understand it, tetryon visuals are being updated. Is this correct? Or is it just one specific group of tetryon weapons available from the lockbox?

Yes, but for all tetryon weapons or just special ones?

Also, not that I'm complaining, mind you; we have enough red/orange weapons as it is, but weren't Hirogen ships weapons canonically red? I think they looked kind of like the Tyken's Rift beam. I also think I've had this conversation before somewhere, but whatever.

Well I'll make money off of it, but actually using this stuff? The mirror ships might be okay but another escort and cruiser, meh. The console seems like it'd only be useful in Kerrat. The traits, okay a confusion torp-spread is neat but in practice most enemies just have too many HP and too high a science resistance for that to be more than cute. The weapons might be interesting but since most significant enemies are huge bags of hull a little extra shield drain isn't going to account for much. The stealth-sight on the ground armor might be interesting if enemies were actually cloaking and not using 'cloaking' as an excuse to just spawn right on top of you. So mechanically its all very style yes practical no.

On the plus side, PVPers are used to being gouged on everything, so we can at least make use of that. :D

The MU ships looks OP to me instead lol, for a F2P player
Token/normal/old MU ships never had such a "creative" loadout
Klingons never had a cruiser with LTC sci
Feds only have them as C-store ships or payed ships
MU Dhelan serves as a very good destroyer as it seems When did they ever have an escort with LTC+LT engi?

Meanwhile i think the space traits looks like funn
Does anyone know the exact stats to the Intimidating strikes trait?

Mogai. Like all other mirror ships, it's a swap of boff and console layout to another ship.
The Mogai has always had that layout.

Well, its certainly possible. From what I've read about pvp, having 2 or 3 of these ships on a team seems like a huge advantage. If your other teammates are knocking down shields and keeping the enemy from moving around too much, you're in a prime position to do quite a bit of damage if you can coordinate an attack like that. That's what this game needs more than anything, and desperately; tactical thinking. Forcing players to think about how to attack and how to defend, rather than just charging in and trying to do the most damage in 1 go.

Didn't have much luck with this lockbox except 1 trait and 2 hirogen guns. And not sure if it's on purpose, but to me the guns look like they were not textured.

10% chance for a 3 second confuse... so far it will work with any torp ive seen sans the breen cluster.
