Can anyone here please help me with my huge collection of these box's you can end up getting after picking up them as part of a items left over after you blown up your enemy?

I tons of these box's But can't afford a key set!

When I use the chance to get rid of weapons etc. on my items list, they are not listed there fully just grayed down so I can't even pick them?

I just wish to know where to go to get rid of them and how to access them from the list to do so?

Please help as they now take up over half my items list? :(

Thanks :)

Just Right-Click on a box, a pop up will show up, and you can then get rid of them all.
I am not a Mod. I am just a player. You have been informed

Are you putting any of them in the bank? I would hold onto them as long as possible before discarding them.

You can even sell them on the Exchange - especially older types of boxes not currently in the loot might do not too shabby.

I feel your pain and frustration. I have 5 characters each with over 50 boxes in each of there own banks. The cost of buying three hundred keys is 33750 zen points, for $50 you can buy 5300 zen points. That is about $318 dollars in perfectworld's poctet. I understand that this is a business and they have to make a profit, but come on. Other online games have loot boxes drop with kills and you need to buy the keys to open them, they also HAVE THE KEYS REWARD IN THE LOOT DROP. Given that it is random but it helps. The discounts are great, I only buy keys when you give them but still it is a lot of cash. I am a vip member and pay automatic very month, I love Star Trek and want to support STO, But times are hard, I considering switching to free to pay or just cancel my account. :(

Just a random thought i'm having would be:

Maybe you dont need to open all the boxes you find you know?

Just discard them and thats that

Yeah...if you're not planning on opening them, put them on the Exchange or discard them. No idea why you would want to keep them.
You're right. The work here is very important.

Are these the Lock boxes I keep reading about? I take it you can't see what's in them until you open one up then right?

Yes, you can not find out what is in the box until the key is used.

Anyway, if you have boxes that you don't want, then sell them on the Exchange--they can go for a few thousand EC each.

It's one of Cryptics biggest earners ... Each Lock box has the chance, albeit minuscule, of some really great and valuable equipment, and the Lock Boxes themselves drop randomly from everywhere ... BUT ... You need to buy a Master Key to open them ... And they are quite expensive 125 Zen or 1.8 Million Energy Credits normally ...

Seriously... as other posters have stated, sell them on the exchange. The only things in the lock boxes worth having can also be purchased on the exchange, except for the Lobi... Every so often they do special lobi missions where you earn a bunch of lobi all in two weeks. So, if you're patient, then you don't even need to buy keys for the boxes (not box's, boxes...).

This game is VERY free to play, but you must be patient. Basically, you pay for impatience. If you have to have it now, you pay for it... If you don't mind the grind, then it's very free to play...

U forgot the minning claims and the pool bonuses (fleet marks, exp, etc). I think those are really valuable items, and u cant find em in the exchange..

But of course, there is no sense on having 100 voth lock boxes in your bank.. lol, just keep about 20 just in case and thats it. Sell the rest in the exchange. Make packs and sell em.

The mining claims and bonus pools are not necessary really either... Again, unless you need things now as opposed to waiting for them. Fleet marks and rep marks can be earned just fine without these things with the hourly events (now gone to weekend events). Dilithium can be earned through the various duty officer missions or the (again what used to be) the mining dailies.

None of these conventional ways will earn you much real quick, but will earn you just as much over time.

    Just trying to help...

A huge thanks to all those fellow great star trek online players for your very helpful advice in answer to my box's problem?

    You all are great!

Now you most of you said to sell them at the exchange?

Where do I find it and access it and sell on in these lots of box's which I don't really need!

As I have the top rank needed ( vice admiral upper half now ) and a nice enterprise E type starship which has some great upgrades in weapons etc.

And one more thing I would ask of you all is this?

I over the time playing the free version have built up a collection of starships,

I mean it like this I started like you all I am sure when you first started playing the game got a small frigate type starship looked like the relient from the 2nd star trek film with khan in?

Well, the thing I got is this a list of all the star ships I used and then moved onto the next bigger better one listed with my bridge offices and that list of the items like those lots of box's I have to exchange?

The thing is this, how the heck do I remove these former non-used starships from my main list?

I normally found that when I move over to a new better starship I can strip the older one of the weapons I know are really worth keeping to fit on the new starship?

So I pick them and the consoles etc. and move them to the list of items were those box's are? And then fit them in place of the ones that come with the newer starship!

Now here is the problem after that?

Say I have like I do 4 former starships listed on te lefthand side of my main list,

Now when I click on one of them it comes up and I got the choice it seems to get rid of it if I wish to?

So I right click on the picture of this ship and a small sub menu comes up with a list of things to do with the ship?

One is of course to get rid of it?

But to do so It asks for me to type in the name of this ship into a box under it's picture and click disgard ship!

I see that the name That it asked to type in is already there but grayed looking with the flashing cusor at the start of the name and it will not move to the end of that name for me to press the at time grayed out button below which would get rid of the ship?

So now I can't get rid of any of my former starships only take their contents?
Except the Obelisk carrier which I love to strip it's weapons etc. it will not it seems let me do that for my type of starship class?

So allot for you all to think about sorry?

Hoping some of you can dig me out of this big hole and give me clear step by step ways to get rid of these former used starships & how to use this exchange for my not needed box's?

    Thanks in advance! :)

    1) There is a console or consoles at each of the different factions main bases ESD (Earth Space Dock) First City on Qo'nos and New Romulus ... There is also several Space Stations and bases throughout the Galaxy that have consoles to access most things like Mail, Banks and of course the Exchange

To use the exchange, pick one of the tabs at the top (Buy or Sell) and look through the items, or do a search in the filed at the top, you can narrow down the filed for searching by choosing the Rank and/or Quality level.

To sell something, go to the "Sell" tab, open your invntory and drag it over, then set a price and click "post"

    2) Even though it "seems" like it has already typed in the name of the ship, you still need to re-type it again, once you start typing you'll notice the other letters disappear.

I guess Cryptic really, really, really want to make sure you wish to discard that ship!.

BTW ... Spelling is very important in the Exchange and to discard a ship, you must type things exactly or it wont find/work, including spaces!
