How to preview an outfit?

Looking for a little help here...

Now I freely admit I may have the wrong game, but I thought there was a way to preview an outfit piece before buying. I had thought it was something like ALT+right-click or something similar, but I've tried a few combinations and none seem to work. It's been a long, long time since I remember (or thought I remembered) using this in STO. I've played a lot of different games, so maybe I'm thinking of another game. Does anyone else remember such a feature here, or if not, in another game? I'd love to remember what game I saw the feature in.

If this doesn't exist, maybe a thought for the future devs...

    The C-Store shows preview images, and for costumes from in-game vendors, right-click the item.

    I mean more like an "on your character" preview. I seem to recall it being somewhat buggy and odd in ways because it did not necessarily reflect well, as it showed with all the other pieces being what they already were.

    Again though, it may have been a different game. Also, it mostly applied to lobi items or items in the exchange (simply lobi items for resale).

    Well, you can add and customize anything from the C-Store directly in the tailor by checking the "show unowned costume parts" box. I think it's on by default. You just select it from the list and customize it just like any other outfit.

    Lobi store stuff is trickier. The only way, as far as I know, to get an on-character preview is to copy your character onto Tribble and buy there. Your lobi will be copied with you onto Tribble, and you can spend those while your "real" lobi sit safely in your bank on Holodeck.

    There are still other outfits that I can't think of a way to preview, like the Odyssey uniform that you get from your fleet tailor.
