I've heard that if you discharge a ship that you have been issued as part of your leveling experience, that you can reclaim it without penalty. Is this accurate? If so, how to go about doing it? Currently, I only see it acquirable again by dilithium purchase, but maybe I'm not seeing something right.
My ha'apax has an odd bug that, months back, changed the look of the ship, and the ship's tailor is powerless to change it back. The odd thing is the log-in screen shows the correct colors/texture. I filed a bug report, oh maybe 2 months after the Rommies came out, but I've had no assistance. So, out of desperation, I'm wondering if I discharge it, and reissue a ship of that class, if the problem will discharge with the craft.

Did you happen to equip a special shield @same time as texture bug? If so open your Ship Equipment window, right click you shield, left click disable visual.

Ha! That was it! Thank you! I was not even aware there was a shield that made the ship look identical to the Reman skin at the tailor. It even changed some of the textures, so I always thought it was the tailor settings. BIG Thanks! *Snoopy happy dance*
