Heads up on maintenance tomorrow [Update! See closing post]

Hi Captains. Just a heads up, and I'll post more info about it later in this thread and move it to the GNN, but we're going to conduct maintenance tomorrow morning to squash some bugs.

It's up now, and *should* be until maintenance tomorrow morning. Definitely over 12 hours from now.

There more critical bugs to fix than this (lag in the FE, for example), unfortunately; I don't foresee this being fixed with tomorrow's patch as it's a display only issue. It's annoying, and we'll get it resolved, but we have to priorittize. Thanks for understanding

Still cant login, Launcher is fine, application loads correctly and then I get a timeout to the login server.

Right after I Post this, its starts working. Fantastic.
Why not do it your Evening/Afternoon we in EU are constantly having our Prime Time for playing as Maintenance Downtime I have lost the entire first Day of the Anniversary because of hours of Downtime Server finally got fixed 12.30 AM my time and now you say again tomorrow Prime Time will be Down again?
it is more then annoying it keeps me from doing the only thing I bother going into this game to do.
That's funny. 5 minutes after your post I decided to give the game a try. The STO launcher has a red box that says the game is currently offline. Mind explaining that?
The "free" ships aren't so free since you have to grind on top of all the other grinding you have to do so you put that into hours it takes you and use minimum wage you know your ship isn't free after all.
Then the usual epic fail with every major patch they bring out as usual no QA to be found.
I did enjoy the episode somewhat would have been great if could have finished it when i started it the first 2 times.
Thanks for all that Cryptic and please don't call it a giveaway call it a grindaway its more accurate.

Yeah; we removed it from our backend tool but it can take time to propagate to the site and launcher. Look again

Ah OK. After getting the patch, closing the STO launcher, and relaunching it through Arc (ain't you proud of me for using it?), the message is gone.
Hell of a week. Monday I went to the emergency room. I had a fever of 101.6 and it turned out I have the flu. I'm finally feeling good enough to play the game but that's not happening is it? LOL. Just my luck.
sooo i guess you like paying money for something like the sci destroyer and not getting it for free for just 5 - 10 minutes out of your day? something is wrong here i like that we are getting the better ship for free with no spending required its kinda a nice change of pace for those with no pocketbook but have time to do the missions
Do we really have to go through this every maintenance? :P So for the new people, again, The scheduled downtimes are done when statistics show the least amount of players online in game FROM AROUND THE WORLD if it's done at 6am PST, that's 2pm GMT. Last time I checked, 2pm is smack in the middle of a work day for most people and not exactly considered prime time

You are going to have to pay money for the better versions anyways, or did you not read the blog? The free ships are 9 console weaker versions of the soon to be released c-store ships, the only thing you are getting from the free ships are the core and additional deflector.

Also, I was finally able to get into the game and try out the new FE; I really enjoyed it and did not experience any of the bugs that I have heard about- I will have to keep an eye out for them in my next few runs through. Thanks for the great mission and good luck quashing those bugs!

Why would I complain??? Why do any of you complain?
BE APPRECIATIVE!!! We get an epic ship for FREE, and all it takes is the above - which is FUN!!! We get Dilithium as a reward choice every time we do the little "Party Patrol" mission.
Dont listen to the naysayers devs. The MAJORITY of players enjoy all of the game and dont believe in "grinding". We do rep content and runs and we keep things varied so we dont have to spend weeks doing the same exact thing. We get rewards as they come without going crazy grinding for the "bestest coolest im leet" rewards.
The "vocal minority" might seem like a majority on forums, but they are hardly that. Send a questionnaire to every account holder and you will see the real majority have no problem with the anniversary event.
Some bugs? Thats normal. Server shutdown? Sucks - but its not forever.
Only problem I had was not being able to get the Fed Retrofit on my Rom rnk9 and the raptor retrofit on my klink rnk 13. Should have been able to get a requisition box or something until we could open it. But, some free stuff is better than nothing at all.
We get an amazingly fun and varied epic game with sooo much to see and do - and its FREE!!!! And people complain sooooo much!!!
Notice how the complainers are the players that A)play wayyyyyyyyy too much each day , b) play wayyyyyyy too many characters and sabotage their own games by forcing themselves to repeat the same content in a mad rush to endgame and c) players that are ALWAYS rushing to endgame skipping content/dialog/etc... just to feel powerful. too stubborn to realize if you can complain about something soooooooo minor like the anniversary "grind" for a free ship - you shouldnt be playing STO and/or you need to take a break asap!
Cheers to STO devs for a great anniversary patch. I know that by the time i log on tomorrow Ill be able to finish the featured episode mission i started

I will say this- I am not thrilled with the idea of grinding for the ship; however, the Q daily mission is not nearly as bad/difficult as I was expecting (in fact I kind of enjoyed it), and the ship featured in the FE performed quite differently than what I anticipated. I'm not sure I like it enough to throw actual money at it, but I will be pursuing it if only to play around with it.
