I am trying to put out enough DPS while staying alive, but seems like the Fed Cats are simply out tanking me regardless of whether it is a Sci or a Tac.
So, I am trying to debuff them with my Fireteam or Covert Kit enough to damage and put the kill on them.
I have been told I need to drop 3 Points at least into Willpower Skill.
But where to take them from and not lose the power of my debuff?
And should I move a point from Armor into Advanced Tactics or vice Versa?
Then if I do, well then where do I get the other 3 points for willpower?
Currently, running a Full Dyson set and Dyson Weapon
My primary weapons are :
Omega Carbine Mk12
Protonic Polaron Dual pistols Mk12 CritDx2 They fire quickly so the idea is to put a weapon malfunction on them as well they fire quicker than the Regular Proton Compression Pistol. Should I go with a Compression Proton instead?
Also, Need to fine-tune my Rep System powers: Currently Ground Rep that I have:
Dyson Tier5:
Deadly Aim on Tier1
Vanquish on Tier3 ( should I go with Active Hull Hardening Instead?)
Defiance on Tier5
New Romulus Tier4:
Critical Hit on ground on Tier1
Disabling Strikes on Tier3 ( Should I go with Reactive Shielding instead?)
Nakura Tier4:
Indomitable 7.5 percent health on Tier1
Cryo Immobilizer on Tier3 ( which I hear has been nerfed, so plan to change it soon) to Emergency Fix
Task Force Omega:
Omega Weapon Proficency on Tier 1 (instead of Medical Nanites should I change this to Nanite?)
At the moment, Tactical officers have the fewest survivability options. Their tank kit (Security Protocols) is also currently out of commission due to a duty officer failing to apply the listed effects anymore. For now, I'd suggest using Fire Team Mk XII with the Adapted MACO Armor and the Adapted MACO Pulsewave. The two piece bonus grants a major heal over time and the armor grants a heal proc and large passive regeneration. For the shield, use the Dyson Reactive Personal Shield or the Nukara Strikeforce Elite Personal Shield Matrix. The Dyson Shield would give you great protection from spike damage and the Nukara Elite Shield offers you great protection from all attacks. As for your second weapon; I'd use either a Romulan Plasma Split Beam Rifle Mk XII [CritX]x2 (Tier V New Romulus store unlock), a Romulan Plasma Compression Pistol Mk XII [CritX]x2, a Phased Tetryon Compression Pistol Mk XII [CritD]x2 (Exchange), a Fleet Advanced Antiproton Compression Pistol Mk XII [Dmg]x3 [CritX], the Dyson Experimental Proton Beam Rifle, the Omega Force Antiproton Autocarbine, or the Nukara Strikeforce Elite Cryo Full Auto Rifle.
For a skill build I'd use: Grenades: 4, Weapons Proficiency: 9, Combat Specialist: 6, PS Generator: 6, Special Forces: 6, Squad Command: 6, Willpower: 6, Advanced Tactics: 3, and Combat Armor: 6. Going with more than 6 ranks in any skill on the ground is normally a massive waste and is very rarely worth it.
Federation Tactical Caitians aren't superior, it's just that many players that have been around a while are still using them because there used to be a bug with pounce that let them chain disable other players via pounce and lunge. That problem finally got fixed with Season 8. All they have left now is a 10% dodge chance. If you aren't aware, Dodge chance is a percent chance to halve an attack's damage before it is applied to damage resistances. By default, all players start with 0% dodge chance. However, the Gambling Device, the Omega Force set, and the Shattering Harmonics set all provide dodge bonuses. Crouching (default key C) grants a 50% dodge chance while active, Running (default key Shift) grants a 75% dodge chance while active, and Rolling (double tapping a direction control) grants a 100% dodge chance. A 100% dodge chance means that all attacks will be dodged.
For your reputation passives I'd strongly suggest going with a majority of defensive passives. New Romulus Tier I Enhanced Personal Shields/Tier III Reactive Shielding and Nukara Tier I Indomitable/Tier III Emergency fix will greatly enhance your survivability. For Task Force Omega, I'd actually suggest going with Omega Weapons Proficiency at Tier I and Regenerative Shield Augmentation at Tier III. Dyson I'd go with Deadly Aim at Tier I and Active Armor Hardening at Tier III.
I'd be happy to help you with traits as well, but I'd need to know your character's race.
My traits are really good and I am happy with them. Very effective for me.
Thanks for all the good advice. I need the shield hardening for sure.
Will have to think about my skill tree some more.
