I'm thinking of maybe coming back, seeing as how there's now a glimmer of hope that we'll get some more maps or something.
Before I do, though, I was wondering about that TBR DOff that switches it around so that it pulls rather than pushes. Any decent? Does it work well?
And on a side note, for the 6th DOff slot, do you have to have T5 Dyson Rep or is that a Fleet thing?
It's funny that you post this now. I just (30 minutes or so ago) got done seeing if it was worthwhile. From my understanding of the description it sounded like it would be 50% push and 50% pull, or no net movement. Boy was I wrong. I used it in CE and it pulled quite a few Tholians right on top of me. I removed it ASAP. I was thinking of using it, plus a photonic shockwave for a nice combo, but I'm still undecided. So in short, it works very well at pulling things very close to you.

the doff is awesome. its practically a brand new station power. perfect if all you want to do is deal damage with it, and for a hold seems to work better then a normal TB some times. unless your ships real big and as it pulls them up against you, it pulls them out of your cannon arc. helps to be reversing wile using it.
or vacuuming people into an EWP your laying as well. it essentially guaranties anyone within 5 of you is gonna get stuck in it.

6th doff is from the spire fleet holding
This. It absolutely burns hull, and turns you into a mobile grav well. I use it all the time in PvP. It's splendid for yanking people out of arc, into hazards, etc.
Both my kdf and fed sci uses it. It's a little bit more effective in fed toon since it got 5 sci console vesta, but either way it's awesome on both toons.
Just to fix something: TBR DOFF does turn that into a pull instead of a push, but only at 50% effectiveness. Still awesome though to drag people around.
Also, science ships are gonna get a boost soon with secondary deflectors. It'll only be on one ship (per faction) to start, but that is being added this week to at least get put into the game.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
From what I have seen playing around with it the best use is with eject warp plasma.
Yes as the first response mentioned its not going to be a good idea in Crystaline entity. It does work alright in Infected STF with GW and Eject Warp plasma on ships that can do that. Just get some speed up and drag NPCS in.
PvP wise its a mixed bag. DONT is right about the dmg you will get the dmg up as you won't push people away as often. However it is sometimes a massive liability. Pulling a couple high dmg escorts on top of you in a PvP match is a bad situation to be in. lol
Its a fun doff and I think that pretty much sums it up. Sometimes better then none doffed version sometimes much worse... it does pretty much change the skill completely. Fun for what it is.
or you can use a 300 particle gen sci ship and 0 in graviton and have the tractor beam version of FAW
It already is a sci version of FAW. Once scrambled, you are liable to pull your own teammates and allies into the silly EWP and GW goop. Always keep a copy of ST handy for such occasions

Second Deflectors are not a myth!? That would be awesome, be it slightly OP, I fear.
Edit: By the looks of it, those Dyson tac/sci ships come with a 3-piece set of deflector, cannons and Sing/Warp core... Could be interesting, depending on set boni.
I just want to say that that DOff makes flying this ship in Ker'rat a hell of a lot of fun.

I love this doff. It's brought new life to my old nebula and science odyssey. Pack on one or more Dyson science consoles and it can do some crazy good damage. I even put a chronoton torpedo in the back so I can TS anyone with high ID.
Before you all laugh at the Science Odyssey thing...It's great for pug matches because I can have CC with GW, TBR and EWP. I can sport some team heals, and I can be tanky myself in addition to having the cruiser commands.
Just remember, APO makes one immune to the pull and PH makes one immune to the pull and damage so timing is really important. It also can only pull 3 objects, so spam can make it totally useless. Also, it tries to pull on dead ships too, even photonic ones, which can be really annoying. So for me, in my science ships, I just PH or if that's on CD I use an engine battery and use Photonic Fleet so the TBR grabs them instead of me.

Hate to say it, but probably better w/Theta, and AMS (& w/e evil mines you want). For example:
TR3, VM1 (after Theta kills crew), AMS (the placate will keep them from shooting you), TBR2, ES1, followed up w/TB1 and SS1 to really annoy them. Toss in power debuff torp(s) and placate proc w/KHG shields to really annoy them. Don't forget those annoying web mines ... all kinds of disables/drains/placates/scrambles. 3x tech doffs w/single aux2batt build to get those uptimes higher 1x grav, 1x vm, 1x tb. So um yeah ...

looks like I need to try an a2b particle gen vesta again, sounds like this doff is a perfect match for it. It will be able to use GW, TBR3, and EWP all at global, and might as well throw in iso charge for more fun.

yeah it's pretty fun in a vesta. Using the push console with Doffed TBR is crazy funny.
Speaking of which. That console is a good counter to Doffed TBR

I'm planning on pairing it with GW3 and EWP.

Hah, that's kind of funny actually. Aux to Batt, high PartGens and maybe Tac Buffs for an even better FAW.

Nope, they're not a myth. I refer you to the following screenshot:
4th Anniversary Sci/Tac Ship (from the 'ship-builder' blog)
They could be OP, but we will see.

Watched someone pull 3 or 4 exploding voth ships onto themselves the other day and die... it was amusing.
