Wouldn't it be good to sell old ships?

Hello everyone,
I'm kinda new to this game (well not 2 weeks new but about half of year new :D ) still there are some things I haven't learned yet about STO. However, I'm not here to ask questions but I was wondering if the "Higher Council" of STO would consider this proposition.

As we all get 5 or 6 ships(not really sure lol) through our gameplay/leveling up, wouldn't it be easier and more helpful to rather sell those ships to, I don't know, somewhere in ship requisitions for the half the price of their value.

i.e. I have my Assault Cruiser (Sov class) which is valued at 120k dilithium, wouldn't it be more helpful to sell it for let's say 60k of dilithium ore(half price)? That way we can easy earn the dilithium and convert it to ZEN and buy ship we want. Whatsoever, we still need to grind the rest but selling our old ships will save us much time and help us in the same way.

I know buying ZEN is the easiest option, but tbh I don't have money to waste, and I don't have enought time or patience to grind for the ship I want. I've already stopped playing STO for 2 or 3 times because of my low level ship and stuff.

A little of grinding, a little of selling ships and we can earn enough dilithium to convert to ZEN and get a C-store ship we want. And from that point on it's easier for us to grind dilithium through STFs and dailies. I constantly get blown up in Elite STFs because of my Mk XI rare/very rare stuff, and to play normal STFs I would get as low as 480dil per STF. and it would take almost 2-3 months, and that is if we play every single day to max out our quota of 8k dilithium.

Never the less, that's just a proposition and I'm asking politely to just consider this option.

P.S. sorry for my "low english level" :P

Thanks,
Riker32 out!

Sorry, but... they're not actually worth that much dilithium.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

only way i could see for getting dilithium from discharging/selling a ship was if it was a ship you bought with cil in the first place. buying a ship for "free" with the token, then tossing it back for dil.... no.

That's what you call a "personal problem."

And this is exactly why your request won't happen. Because one can get over one's allergy to grinding Dilithium and get exactly what you want- a C-store ship- already.

What you're really asking for is Cryptic to make what people already do on a constant basis easier. And they've been pretty much doing the exact opposite, tightening down on easy ways of getting Dilithium.

You're barking up the wrong tree, sadly. The thing to do is

A: Knuckle down and grind your way to a C-store ship
B: Set aside a few cents a week until you've got enough spare change to buy one
C: Hang it up and learn to live with what you're flying

But I'd advise against holding your breath waiting for Cryptic to start giving out free Dilithium for ships they hand out like candy.

I would love an option to upgrade lower tier ships to their higher tier cousins for a Zen cost.

E.g. Cruiser to Cruiser Refit for 375 Zen (that's 50% of zen cost for direct purchase of Cruiser Refit).
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

yep, that wouldn't be bad also, 375 ZEN isn't much to grind for.
