Please use this thread to post all feedback and issues found with the new Fast Ship Swap feature.
Fast Ship Swap: Change your current ship almost anywhere!
- On Sector Space maps or social maps, a new Optional Action button has been added: Switch Starship
- Click this button to open your list of ships. Click the ship to want to switch to and it will replace your current ship wherever you are.
- Your new ship retains all the equipment and bridge officer stations from the last time you used it.
- There is a one-minute cooldown after using Fast Ship Swap.
- Fast Ship Swap can only be used on Sector maps or on Space Social maps such as Sol System or Qo'noS system.

However, when the ship warps out, it's the old ship, like it should be... BUT, when the new ship warps in, it's the old ship. The new ship will show up, magically, AFTER the warp in sequence.

Is it supposed to happen in the Dyson zone, though?
It would be nice if you could have the switch ship and load loadout option close on the UI, since it would be a two step process. I'm not sure what the order of the ships are on th emenu; it would be nice if they were alphabetized by ship name or ship type.
The graphics would start out as the old ship on the warp in, but then it would "glitch" to the new ship. That could look a little smoother.
Anyway, that's it. Great new feature so far. Can't wait for DOFFs and power trays to be included.
My first ship warps out as if leaving any social (space) or sector space map. Followed by a brief load screen. Then my next starship of choice warps in to exactly the same spot I had vacated. Thus far my default loadouts (Equipment, BO slots and hotbars) for each starship are intact as previously set.
I confirm the known issue that switching from starship to small craft isn't sorted yet. So I went to my interior to select my shuttle. Then tested switching between small craft only. The default equipment and hotbar setting were maintained. However, the BO slot isn't kept slotted at all. Regardless of which small craft I'm using when setting it on my Character UI. Switching to my Type 8 Shuttle results in the BO slot completely vanishing (which I bug reported as likely specific to the Type 8.).
I've seen other player's warp out in typical fashion. But not seen that player immediately warp back in with another ship. I don't think that I've seen another player use this near me yet. I'm curious to know if the warp out and warp in effect are only on our end? What will another player see? Fading in and out as if we visited our bridge?
I'm having problems with this function.
1) When I switch ships, when ship B warps in a random number of shield facings will go into infinite rebalance mode and not stop flashing until I rezone somewhere else, even if I unequip or reequip my shield.
2) I'm having some sort of display issue with unequipping any gear that was already on a ship with a loadout after it warps in.
Here we see that after I unequip a shield, instead of displaying an empty slot it changes icons instead:

This happens on a second ship as well when I switch ships again and remove its shield.

I can equip a different shield and the icon changes the way it's supposed to.

But if I unequip it again the issue returns.

As I mentioned in my summary, this only affects gear that was already on the ship when it warps in. Here you can see I've unequipped everything from my ship but the icons are being stubborn:

Both of these ships are using loadouts that were saved on ground on ESD. I believe the Galor's loadout was saved at the Ship Selector while it was the active ship and the selector window was open, and the DSSV's loadout was saved while only the Status window was open without the Ship Selector window.
*However I did not actively switch to these loadouts after switching ships, this just happens after any switch.
*The issue persists if I beam down to ESD and then come back out into the Sol system. It also persists if I warp out into Sirius block. In other words, the only way to get a clean gearless ship is to drag and unequip everything and THEN instance/map change.

I prefer ship equipment be kept on inactive ships when swapped out, or if it must go somewhere else, into my bank.
Bugs
-Cannot change ship in Qonos system, have to warp to sector space.
Suggestions
-Clearly state how much longer the cool down is.
I do wish that either in the space zone or in a cut scene, first our new ship would warp in, something would happen, like a transporter effect or something, and then our old ship would warp out. Others have been suggesting this all over the forums and I too think it would be really cool, though the system still works great without it. And I don't know if having both ships side by side is even possible in STO right now.
Still an awesome new system.
Great work so far, Cryptic!
P.S. As for the equip system (though I know it is the wrong forum to report it in, will go over to the other forum and post it there too) I too am concerned about the previous equipment on a ship being shifted to my inventory (though I would be just as concerned if it were the bank). What were to happen if my inventory (or bank) were completely full? Would I loose that equipment or would it end up in the overflow bag? (I need to test it I guess)

1. Logging in to a social map like Deepspace K7 or Deep Space Nine Space fails to create the "Switch Ship" button. It is there if you warp out and back in.
2. Warping out of Sol System after logging in there failed to create the "Switch Ship" button for the Sirius sector. (EDIT: Wrong info, I think I was still on the 1 minute cooldown)
- Maybe it is possible to move the button to the ship menu of the UI?
This would allow to see the 1 min timer e.g..
Not really that necessary but nice would be the option to see the current loadout of the ship you are switching to.
