STO Video for Beginners

As most know ALOT of new content has become available to players in the past year SO I thought I would randomly look up STO beginners video on google/youtube/Bing and to my surpise it seemed that there has been NO new videos for STO beginners that has the new content, Abilities, and Useful info for builds... usually I would find people showing off their build or explaining something most beginners will probably have no clue about OR the video was just out of date ...so I made this thread to see if ANYONE was willing to make a youtube video that Details ships/character builds that has not only useful builds but giving the noob thoughts as to making their own unique build Not to mention the usefulness of skills/weapon power/doffs and Consoles no matter HOW un useful the majority of the players think they are!
as for the reason for this post its kind a obvious And my fleets are founded on helping new players and getting old players pointers on newer content, and yes I understand the depth of which I have asked But it is for a very good cause :>
PS I would do it but I don't have the voice lol or expertise in pointing out what needs to be pointed out x.x and thank you who ever decides to help with this epidemic!

I will now tell you something in public that we have been saying in fleet chat for a while...
PLEASE STOP TRYING TO MAKE BING HAPPEN! IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!
That's like making the switch from Coca-Cola to Pepsi. Switching from Google to Bing does not make "Bing" a common word.
People all across the world say "I think I'll have a coke." and they mean they're just going to have an soda or carbonated beverage (Perrier is French, thus doesn't count... nothing French counts).
When someone nowadays says they're going to "google" something, they mean that they're going to search the web. When they say they're going to "bing" something, it means they are trying to make up a word or going to watch old episode of Friends starring Matthew Perry.
Also, using Bing is like using AOL search. You use it and the technicians that have lonely, sorry lives, suddenly get excited that somebody is using the long, lost, thought dead, product.
So please... stop trying to make Bing happen... it's not going to happen.

You certainly did not look hard enough. STO has a YouTube channel cram packed with tutorial videos, ship build videos, walkthrough videos. You name it they got it (Dang I sould like a Ferengi there):)
I wish something would take on the borg though. G has become a political institution and against everything I stand for, but their monopoly on the search engine industry makes it hard to use any of the other sorry tools out there. They may force me to use their sites now and again, but they are evil.
Also, as for specific builds and tips, alot of players are actually quite guarded with their builds, as it allows a tactical advantage to those who can find the cracks in it. For me, I only share my builds with my fleetmates.
I have always told people in ESD: 'If you need some advice on the mechanics of the game, find a good fleet that knows what they are doing."
As for the "Bing" comment, I did a quick test run and searched for "Star Trek Online" on both Google and Bing.
Google brought up the STO Forums, along with "About" "Free to Play", "Downloads" and "STO Patch notes" Not bad for an off the cuff search for someone inquiring about the game, or a veteran looking to catch up.
Bing, on the other hand, had a brief splash of the wikipedia article on the side. It also brought up the STO forums, with the sub catagories of "STO news" Ok.. "Linking your accounts" Old news... "The Temporal Lockbox" ancient history, "New Wallpapers Available" Not helpful, and finally "Summer Ship sale" Something I really should be aware of in January. Also, two links down it digresses into StarTrek.com, while SOMEWHAT related to Star Trek Online, it should have known the difference.
Not to mention, that at every corner, it was asking me If I wanted to "upgrade" to Internet Explorer.
Google > Bing.
The channel of Brent Justice/the Doctor is one of these. He is doing complet videos for each faction, STFs, Reputation,.. And he also played all the new revamped beginner missions.
Maybe you should use YouTube's search instead of Boing...
Just not here. Hit up the Blog or the Channel itself.
And use Google.
Because google censors search results if a corporation pays them enough, google records your search results and uses a "filter bubble" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filter_bubble which biases your search results. (deep in settings you can actually turn this off, but its on by default but most people dont even know theres a bubble, and it doesnt change the fact that your searches are recorded)
This means anything ever searched by your MAC/IP on google is available to people that want to look for it.
And some people find those privacy issues to be concerning. Thats not to say Bing is better though since bing's results are horrible at actually finding what you want in addition to having a filter bubble.
Because google is politically motivated company that is not above stealing your data (the drive by van / wireless network hack for example), not above installing spyware on your system (toolbar, and a number of other software packs that just appear), has a tracker on nearly every page you visit, filters search results to prioritize its customers, bans some businesses from using their services for political reasons, filters news provided for political reasons, uses your searches to feed an advertising industry and for a variety of other statistics, and that is only to name a few that we know about. It may be the best search engine, but some people still are wary of a large corporation with an agenda.
