As much as I am anxious over the Delta expansion, I think Season 9 should solely be about the Re-vamping of existing systems and mechanics. It's MUCH long over due for a Doff revamp, Crafting Revamp, ground combat revamp, Exchange revamp, PvP revamp, STF revamp and the list goes on and on. This also allows Devs to spend more time fine-tuning and introducing more content and polishing things like the Delta Expansion. It gets kinda old having stale seasons that feel somewhat rushed, full of bugs and a bad taste. They really should prolong the update period to fine tune and polish their updates. STO is long been known to be one of the buggiest and glitchiest games out, this is mainly due to the rushed update cycles, no doubt pushed from PWE.
I rather have more in-depth content that is polished even though it takes longer to be released, then rushed content that is lacking, finished/beaten on a scale of a few days as opposed to months and still being full of bugs. I vote S9 is about revamping existing systems, introducing new mechanics for them and fixing long standing bugs and let S10 be a full on expansion like LoR but for the Delta Quadrant.
We need to polish, fine tune and re-vamp existing content before we continue to stack more and more content to cover it up.

Really? Buggiest and glitchiest is probably one of perspective. I don't think I'd quite put it in the league of (unmodded) KotOR II, Fallout 3, or Fallout: New Vegas...
Bugs? Sure. But buggiest? Hardly. Every MMO is buggy, due to the fact that if you were to decompile one, you'd probably find they are well on their way to a billion lines of code these days. That's 1,000,000,000 lines to debug, and when you change one innocuous little line, you often break something completely unrelated, leading to screaming, crying, wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I would though like to see a mid-season tidy up though, and perhaps new systems put in place when the new expansion is released.
There are definitely longstanding bugs which need to be addressed (though I bet each of us has a different list of pet peeves), and systems which could use a revamp.
But if that's all they did for a season release, I can guarantee you that almost everyone (myself included) would be extremely disappointed.
Such improvements need to come hand-in-hand with new content, or added in between major releases.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
we neeed the most ground combat revamp and also think it would be a lot better if we could get more sets for reputations we have atm instead of another new reputation and improved defara and nukara zone
Bugs are prioritized by how hard they are to correct as well as the impact they have on the product. This is true in every business. This means that a bug that is low impact but hard to fix may exist in a product from version 1.0 to version 10.0, because other things are more important to fix or adding new functionality (games also have content additions) is more important.
No matter how annoying that bug may be to you. Or the developer who may really want to ix it but can't because there are higher priorities.
I also don't find this game significantly more buggy than other MMOs I play.

And hair-pulling, and splitting hairs ... and holy hand grenades of Antioch. One, two ...
Problem is that they DID do a lot of this stuff before hand...and lookat where we are now.
Ground Combat's had 2 reworks so far. First with all of the extra functions like rolling, crouching, flanking, and aiming. Then It got reduxed again with the introduction of 'Shooter Mode' to make it more dynamic on the player's end. Crossfire tribble exists for this sole reason. And yet, people STILL feel like ground combat is ether beyond boring and dull, or hair pulling annoying.
Crafting's been in shambles since Dil got introduced thought, FAW keeps going in and out of it critting or not, searching on the Exchange is still hit or miss, and PvP most of the time is ether insta KO's or two ships unable to do jack towards each other. Really this games only real options IS to keep going forward, as it's attempted to go back, and honestly people still aren't happy with it.
you do realize people ask for this every season.... yet it'll never happen. it's not a good RoI to just spend that much time doing nothing but bug fixing.
I think most of you ignored the main part of my post.
Yes- I know there are other buggy games
Yes- I know this isn't the only MMO, lol?
Yes- ONLY doing bug fixes would be stupid
That's why I said bug fixes AND re-vamps. Re-vamps would mean additional features/content within the game mechanic and feature. Ground re-vamp would add new ground style mechanics, such as vehicles and other usable objects. most robust and non-linear style of combat. PvP would see improved mechanics and systems as well as Leader boards, Gear etc. Crafting would be re-vamped to be able to craft better things in a different way (Creates re-play value here), not to mention the additional features/content potential of re-vamping other systems. I know some of these are mentioned in Dev Blogs and Upcoming content posts, but re-vamping would create new content in it's own right. Which would also allows new features to be explored.
I see some of the argument; No new content= pointless. These needed fixes WOULD create more content to explore and even with your so called "Season content patches" you still blow through them in a matter of hours or a few days so whats the difference? lol
I know old vets like me (Season 2) are few and far between it seems these days, so many of whom has posted I am sure, have only came into the fold during Season 5-6 at best and are somewhat out-of-sync with this game needing revamped features instead of more new content. There are alot of good features in STO that just need re-vamping to make it that much better, or in some cases, useful at all.
And YES, Out of all the MMO's I have played (WoW, SWToR, EVE, RS, PoE, Rift, Aeon, FF XI, XIV, Vindictus, GW2 and LOTRO *probably forgot some*) STO seems the most buggiest to me, but its not ONLY about the bugs...
