Elite Delta Flyers

I saved up 100,000 FC and 40,000ish Dilithium to get the elite delta flyers. I am not sure why they are called elite because they seem no better than the advanced in anyway. Are they just renamed advance delta's that can drain an unnoticeable amount of extra shield power? I feel kind of ripped off and really should have gotten the yellowstone runabouts. I think the weapons or shield should at the very least be better on the elites. I liked the advanced delta flyers and was thinking the elites would be even better, I was very very wrong, and wasted a lot of time and resources for nothing.

Problem is what else in the game is a pointless waste of time and resources? Should I stick to what everyone else uses so I don't get ripped off? Sort of seems like the elite deltas might even be worse than the advanced ones. I never asked for refund btw, this forum say federation gameplay feedback.

Everyone else use what they use because these are the non-ripoffs...

Elite Delta Flyers seem to be better than Advanced Delta Flyers at least in theory since there is no difference in weapon setup and the Elite version has Tachyon Beam 3 compared to Tachyon Beam 2 for the Advanced version. However, it does not seem that much better. It is not like the Yellowstone or Elite Scorpion Fighters where there is a fundamental difference between the Advanced and Elite versions.

Tachyon beam is broken and does negligible shield drain. That is why delta flyers suck. Cryptic fears drain builds in PvP which us why they nerfed most drain abilities to oblivion.

In order to get the elite delta flyers your fleet needs to be high level which means a ton of resources went in to just unlocking them for purchase. Then the player spends 100k fleet credits and 40k dilithium and gets nothing more than anyone else could get with the advanced version. Why? Is this a developer joke or shortcut?

There are lots of Obsolete and Nerfed Equipment, Weapons and Hangar Pets in this game you need to do your research before you buy especially when you need to commit many resources to get them.
The most useful Hangar pets are the Scorpions for DPS and the Yellow Stones for Crowd Control most everything else is Obsolete you don't get much of a Variety in this game whether it's for Weapons or Equipment there is usually only one best way of doing things everything else is inferior.

This is not quite true. Your fleet doesn't need to be high level. It just needs to have a Tier 1 Communications Array for the Science Equipment Provisions. You just need to get a map invite from a fleet with a Tier 5 Communications Array. My fleet only has a Tier 4 Starbase and I was able to purchase 2 Elite Mesh Weavers, 2 Yellowstones, and an Elite Delta Flyer.

Also, it is not 45,000 Dilithium, but whatever dilithium discounts your fleet gets so it is anywhere from 38,250 to 45,000 dilithium.

Elite Scorpions and that includes any Fighter sucks in the Dyson Sphere due to all the AoEs that the Voth use.

How long have fleets been at a level to unlock the purchase of elite hangers? Fairly sure people have only been able to get them for a few months; less than a year. Obsolete gear that is some of the most difficult to get seems extremely illogical. In the game there are elite phasers and shields so why is a elite hanger pet not equipped with elite equipment or at the very least scale up the same as every weapon and equipment in the game does. A common XII weapon is always less dps than a very rare XII weapon of the same type. This board is for gameplay feedback and as a customer I feel mislead and ripped off. I am not a game developer but I am an application developer and if I started adding upgrades to my products that were exactly the same as the non upgraded and were just renamed versions, I would go out of business. To the game developers, I love the game, but if you keep adding super hard to get equipment that does nothing different, eventually people stop trying to get them and that means less playingTime($). I have all advanced fleet weapons and was thinking of getting the elite weapons but not going to waste my time.

All of it ... Every last annoyance, comes down to the fault of having PvP and PvE in the same game! It never has and never will work, and eventually PWE will realise this.

If you have an item with a particularly handy or different Buff/Power/Nerf that is perfect against a particular enemy in PvE, someone in PvP will start crying because they are being beaten all the time by it, so it will be nerfed or removed, or someone will have the opposite Buff/Power/Nerf and you end up in a stalemate ...

So in order to "balance" PvP, there is a "golden bullet" and a "golden shield", they may have 25 different names and fancy colours, but they all just end up being the same thing and we get threads like this one ...

Until they separate the stats of items between nd have dual spec on everything for PvE and PvP it ill never change ...

In this instance, they wouldn't have needed to nerf the Tachyon Shield Drain power in PvE so buying the Elite Delta would be worth it for drain builds. If every item had 2 tooltips (1 for PvE and 1 for PvP) the problem would be solved ... There is already some items that have this, as a few items have buffs/nerfs that a shorter against players than they are against AI enemies, all they need to do is make every item like that and problem solved ...

But ... It will never happen so ... Read the forums, and buy the same golden bullet and same golden shield as everyone else, we'll all just end up flying Borg Cubes with different colours.

I have totally destroyed some people in pvp and been owned by others. If they create a weapon/power then create a way to counter it. Shield drain isn't that big of a deal there are ways to counter it, it's even a skill called Starship Power Insulators. The runabouts have the warp plasma and tractor beams and there are ways to counter that as well. I don't want clouds of gas obscuring my view since I'm in an escort carrier I move fast and don't really need the target stopped. I am just extremely disappointed that they didn't upgrade the hull strength or anything. The advanced deltas do the same damage as the elite and because of the shield drain 3 I think the elite deltas get targeted and killed faster than the advanced. I'm not asking for fairness just some common sense, if you make something super pricey and call it elite then it should be better than the cheaper non-elite version. I have fleet ships not because they are called fleet ships but because they are better than the non-fleet versions. I have bought a lot of stuff with real money and am really unsure if I should ever risk doing it again. I bought the odyssey pack, personally can't fly something that big so it doesn't work for me but thats my fault for buying it, it's still a great ship for some people. The elite deltas are the same exact thing as the advanced for everyone that equips them, how does that make sense? I spend a lot of time in the contested zone and when I see a lone voth frigate I send nothing but the deltas, the advanced deltas will kill it without me needing to respawn more, I had just hoped that the elites would kill it a little faster than the advanced considering the 100k fc and 38k dilithium price.

Edit: I wouldn't mind having a borg cube that shoots golden bullets.....

Every Hangar Pet falls Victim to Voth AoE but Scorpions are still the best for DPS Overall.

Used my Mesh Weavers in Allied Space and all of them were still standing after I was done. I have to dock my Fighters and wait for the Palisades activate their AoE attack or else they would be destroyed. For the other Voth ships, fighters don't last long. The point is that Mesh Weavers are far more durable and I can get them to level 5 without any of them dying while that is impossible for fighters of any type. So it is not every Hangar Pet that falls Victim to Voth AoE just fighters and other hangar pets that have low durability.

Until an enemy AOE ability like Tykien's Rift and Grav Well comes along, both in PVE and most especially in PVP. All those beautiful streams of HYT Plasmas that people gush over with the Elite Scorpions?

Gone with the press of a button, as well as any following HYT Plasmas as long as that effect is in place.

Allied space is not the same as the contested zone. I have never lost a hanger pet in allied space unless I was using fighters but I don't spend much time there. I found a lone battleship in the contested zone and the deltas were able to drop the hull to 80% before I needed to respawn more. I really like the delta flyers but the elites are the about the same as the advanced and have no noticeable difference for their cost/tier. I wish I had gotten something for my fleet credits and dilithium other than the pet that are called elite. If the elites were purchasable from the same store as the advanced but were priced slightly higher it would be a little more logical but having them as a high end fleet hanger and charging 100k fc is absurd and is extremely unbalanced gameplay. I have no clue if the game creators care or maybe they just wanted filler content to make the game look more interesting with out investing a single thought. I am not comparing the deltas to any other hanger, I am aware there are better. I am only comparing the elites to the advanced because there is no noticeable difference for their cost.

I said "Overall" not in Voth STFs I was't talking about survivability I use the Elite Romulan Drone Ships and they're still standing at the end of the battle.

Seems to me Delta Flyers have always sucked. Personally, I had no reason to believe the Elites would be much better. I'm not surprised that you can't even tell the difference.

They got the double whammy nerf, (longer hanger CD and only 4 per hanger) because they are so "strong and powerful", they had to be reeled in. Tachyon beams and transphasics, Oh My!

I'll grant that they are slightly more resilient than a fighter, but their usefulness in combat is minimal. Even if they were treated as fighters with the shorter CD and 6 per hanger, they would be far from the best use of hanger space, but that might at least make them a viable option. Alternatively, they could actually make them worthy of being treated as superior craft.

As they are, they sit in the bank. Where they've been nearly since the day I bought them.
